Perfect location just 2 blocks from main square. Good mattresses and double duvet! Wifi throughout hostel. The owners are great, friendly and on the ball, but all other staff totally clueless. Free breakfast embarrassingly small (2 tiny pieces of bread) but you can pay for eggs and extra bread. The 10 bed dorm is a roof terrace that they've thrown a roof onto, it is drafty and there are no curtains. 360 degree attack of sunlight in the morning! No guest kitchen.

After 2 months traveling throughout Ecuador my wife and I thought this was one of the worst places we had stayed . 1 - we booked a double room with private bath . The room was bare basic a bed and a chair with a closet to put our stuff , lightbulb burnt out in the lamp by our bed reported and not fixed . Private bath - on the opposite side of the building way past the two shared bathes . Our private bath was so filthy we did not even use it. free breakfast 2 pc bread juice coffee look elseware

Restaurant and Bar excellent, rooms could need an extra touch like a wardrobe, nightstand or reading lamp. Bathrooms were clean but ceiling moulded as no windows to fresh air. Unfortunately our room had no oportunity to open a window which was a shame. Nevertheless, highly recommendable for location, lovely swiss owners, excellent food and drinks and price for value.

the 10 bed dorm is incredibly spacious!

Ok hostal, no complaints here

Great location. Had hot water problem but solved the next day all in all OK

We loved yakumama! Excellent location and Maya at the front desk was incredibly helpful and patient. We had a bit of a mixup with our reservation and wanted to add an extra day. Everything ended up working fine. They did have a really loud party on our last night but they were very clear it would happen ahead of time and we were fine with it. Breakfast is simple but tasty. The passion fruit margarita was so so delicious!

- Rain dropped in to the rooms (nobody was interested to fix the hole!) - Firealarm at night (nobody cared about the fire alarm!) - private bathroom was dirty - self baked bread was really good for breakfast - free city maps - we receivd good information from the swiss girl at the reception

We had a really nice stay at the hostel. Good staff, clean, well located but small breakfast...

Location was really good, next to the city center. Staff are wonderful they will try to help you in anything you need. The beds in the terrace had some few bugs crawling in our beds but they were deft not bed bugs it seem like it was termites from the ceiling. Besides that everything is great. Strong suggest it.

The hostel was great. I stayed in the bamboo dorm room. Great value, and great location, just 2 blocks from the main square. The staff were excellent. Helped with my spanish and also took a bunch of us salsa dancing on a Wednesday night. Would stay again :)

The Good: Great location, walking distance to the river, many museums, and the new and old cathedrals. Showers had hot water. Bathrooms were generally clean. The Bad: The trash had not been emptied in our room when checking in. Sheets felt dirty. If you want to come or leave late at night, you have to bother some dude who will then walk over and unlock the front door for you to leave. Loud music coming from the courtyard area after 11pm when we had to wake up early the next day.
