..great hostel in old part of town within walking distance to everything...good breakfest, helpfull staff...

This is a good place to stay in beautiful Cuenca as it´s close to the historical centre and is cheap. It´s run by a young Swiss sister and brother team who speak both English and Spanish fluently. As well as the usual jam and bread breakfast you can also order extras. The building is large and there are ample toliets and showers with hot water. There is also a yard at the back where you can relax and a room where you can play beer pong. The beds are comfortable and lockers are provided.

Breakfast included was not that big, but the brother and the sister, from Switzrland, owning the hotel are very nice and always happy to help you... Nice atmosphere, an hotel made for backpacker on the road wanting to have a good time in Cuenca!!

This hostel is a nice, pleasant place to stay in Cuenca. The beds are massive, and there are lockable boxes in the rooms. There is a massive courtyard with hammocks, as well as a bar to hang out in. My only complaint is that they close the reception on Sunday's. Being that we spent a full day there on Sunday, this was a hassle, as there was no one to help us out and just the night security who was constantly letting us in and out.

The staff seemed generally uninterested in interacting with guests. If you order in the restaurant he staff act as if you were asking the world of them. Otherwise this was a great place.

Nice hostel with very comfy beds. Most of the staff were super. The free breakfast is ok. Great facilities in a beautiful little town.

It was good for a hostel. I was in a room and the game room was right next to me, so they were making a lot of noise up until 1am. You could tell that it is a new hostel, with new bed sheets and everything, but the room had hair everywhere, so did the showers. I was there for a few days and I didn't see anyone cleaning the showers for any of those days. Breakfast was ok, but the mugs were not clean, they had food stuck to them, as well as forks and knives.

We were prepared to spend 4 nights in hammocks, we lasted 2 two.Having spent weeks in hammocks before, we were disappointed in the poor quality of the hammocks and how there was no change room on the terrace. They clearly invested in cheap hammocks, as 3 of the 4 we tried didn't hang right as you ended up nearly slipping out one side.Plus, the staff were the rudest, most unhelpful, and unaccommodating people we have dealt with on our travels. We do NOT recommend Yakumama, despite having yummy food

clean rooms, simple but fine breakfast. TV room was good and a sociable hostel so great if you're travelling alone.
