Nice small sociable hostel, like coming into someone's house for a few days. The dorms are ok but we stayed in a twin room also which was tiny. Apart from that though very nice with a good kitchen and living area. Friendly staff who give good advice too.

One of the best hostels during my trip to South America! The breakfast is top, everyday there is home-made bread and jam and you can have it at any time of the day! The staff is also great and helpful. The rooms have a heating and there are sufficient bathrooms. The hostel computer suck though - they are slow and don´t ever use them to transfer photos, they are full of viruses!

We returned to this hostel, as my husband stayed there few years ago and had a good experience. Clean, comfy beds, very friendly, helpful, laidback staff, nice breakfast and good kitchen facilities to prepare your own meal. The only thing was not very clean bathroom, otherwise very plesant experience. Would return anyway and Bariloche is certainly worth it. Next time would love to try the asado, we missed it this time!

Excellent hostel! Pablo's homemade bread and jam for breakfast is amazing and breakfast is available until noon. I had my first mate here also, so if you havent tried it yet, they will surely encourage you to do so. Located just a few blocks from the city center and lakes, great restaurants, breweries and pubs and many chocolate stores; Rapa Nui chocolates is a must! They also offer great discounts at many stores, restaurants, bars and excursions. Not a party hostel, but a great place to relax.

The hostel is located a little uphill, but very close to the supermarket and city center. The staff is realy friendly and personal. The breakfast has homemade bread and homemade jam and some apples. There are big lockers so your backpack actually fits in one. The front door has an entrycode, so no one can enter without notice. There are not that many showers and the toilets are in the bathroom, so you might end up running from one to the other to find the first one that comes available.

Very good hostel. The owner and personnel are not only nice but very professional and efficient as well. I felt they made their best to make their guests feel as comfortable as possible. Bathrooms are clean all day long with plenty of hot water. Free breakfast with home-made bread and jams adds to excellent value for money.

I had a great stay!! It was like staying with my family. I traveled by myself and made a reservation for only one night which i extended because it felt like staying with a big family. Breakfast is incredible and always fresh, homemade bread is excellent. They help you to orginize your days and guided me to really enjoy my vacations. Dinner is cheap and really good.... People dont lie when they say that Argentina is the place to eat! They offer homemade food. I gain many pounds!! GREAT PLACE

Hostel Achalay was great! I especially enjoyed the music themed rooms and the breakfast was great with homemade bread and jams! It was really easy to get to the centre of town and the staff were very helpful and knowledgable. Would definitely recommend this hostel for young travelers!

As a ´´more mature´´ traveler looking to add to the adventure to travel, I couldn´´t have asked for a better place. I was hoping to interact with people doing interesting travel without organized tours. The staff, and more particularly, the guests provided a great experience. If you are open to learning good things from younger people, try this (and other) hostels. You will be part of ´´a family´´ and learn how ´´to share´´. The staff and owners of Achalay went out of their way to be helpful.

Pablo was really helpful and forgiving as I'd messed up my booking- not many hostels would be so accommodating! Regardless of that, this place was ideally located with excellent facilities to help you make the most of this beautiful place. I wish we could have stayed longer but they were fully booked- too popular!

A good hostel with a nice, friendly and helpful staff. Got really good recommendations for my short stay in Bariloche from Pablo. The asado was also great and created a good atmosphere to meet fellow travelers.

Located in a pretty old building, this hostel needs some improvements, mainly in the bathrooms. The staff was nice and helpful, but some of the informations I´ve got with them didn't match.
