It is a great option if you are a couple and you still want to be in a Hostel atmosphere. You have both combination - fun and privacy!

At first I had a great impression: nice place, kind staff. But when I came back to my room after having dinner in my very first night there I realized that 200 pesos were missing from my backpack!! And I was completely sure because I had just separated that money before going out to dinner. Since I was alone in a private room, had the room locked, and no cleaning was made, no one was supposed to enter my room. I told the owner and changed hostel. Watch out!!

The hostel is great, but I had a problem with a guest that arrived late at night, drunk and screaming like a maniac, so I couldn't get sleep. But definetely I would come back.

One of the best spots so far in south america. Clean, very secure, a 5 minute walk from the center and helpful staff. accross the street from a supermarket and bank.

We had a great time there. Our double room was a bit small and our view from the window was onto a wall, but still it is a very nice place to stay. The only really bad thing that happened to us, was a missing shirt. It just disappeared from our closet, we have no idea how! That happened when we left our key for cleaning at reception. However this happened, we still had a great place at this really nice hostel!   Read Owner Comments

The staff there were great, especially the guy whose name I have unfortunately forgotten. He came up with great ideas to explore the area. The bit more expencive room is definitely worth the money, be sure to book it (it is not available online though, I guess).

Great hostel, wonderful people, especially Max and Lorena, who were very friendly and helpful. I've stayed at the Alamo several times in the past few years, and it's always been great. Highly recommended.
