Hostel Alamo was great. I went to Mendoza with a friend with the idea of moving there. The staff was so helpful especially Augustina and Joel. They did everything they could to help us with finding work and an apartment. They were also great at giving us sightseeing advice. The hostel was a great place to relax after a long day of job hunting!

Nice big rooms, lots of natural light. Close to shops, ATMs and bars. Quiet at night and a lovely breakfast. I found some of the staff a little rude and it took a while to have some issues followed up. Luggage storage was offered at a price.

Hostel Alamo is a very well organized hostel in central Mendoza. It is across from a huge supermercado & near a host of fancy restaurants. Also just a small distance from the buses to Maipu and from a park which is great for running! While our room (#4) was a bit small, it was everything we needed. Also while it was off the kitchen area, it was insulated from sound and peaceful.. Nice courtyard, staff was super helpful with tourist info and travel support, secure, with great fellow travellers!

We liked your hostel so much that we extended our stay by another 3 days. The atmosphere was excellent and the communual rooms lend themselves to meeting other travellers. Wifi access in the private rooms too! If there is one criticism, it is only that breakfast finished at 9.30 am - many hostels serve breakfast until 10.30 or even 11.00 am. I know that there is domestic work to be done but we felt that we had to be out of the dining room early too.

The host, Joel, was extremely helpful, warm and friendly. We were very impressed with the whole experience of staying at Hostel Alamo, and would definitely stay there again ... and recommend it to friends.

I was having breakfast and gazing out at the beautiful garden and pergola. Then I saw it. My very first hummingbird darting from flower to flower searching for breakfast too. Can a hostel get any better than this!

After reading heaps of great reviews about the place I was quite disappointed when I arrived at Hostel Alamo. The staff can be very helpful but can also be hopelessly unhelpful, it really depends on who's on. The room was great but the private bathroom was super tiny. The kitchen definitely was not great, it's small, the pots and pans are old and wobbly and there's always a lack of cutlery. The garde was very nice though and the bbq is great as well.

The breakfast is almost not worth it; we opted to walk down the street, to the cheap, delicious eateries around the corner. But besides the breakfast, the place is wonderful!

The hostel was nice and very clean. It took the staff a little while too warm up to. Sometimes seemed like they were there more to hangout than work. We stood outside in the rain for 5 minutes one night before someone came from the tv room to let us in. Room 4 is very noisy in the morning, whomever prepares breakfast could be a lot quieter if there are people staying there. Internet went in and out quite a bit. Prices were great though and hostel had great layout.

Our stay at Hostel Alamo was excellent. The location is great, there is a supermarket two minutes walk away and the kitchen was really good. They have a small pool and a really nice garden. This really feels like a home!

Amazing hostel. Great staff went out of their way to help us with anything. We had a problem with the reservation because Hostelworld allowed us to book four nights on rooms that were already full for two of them, luckily the hostel had a cancellation and we were able to stay Super clean facilities, amazing kitchen, comfy beds, working A/C, and amazing hot shower. Highly recommended. STAY HERE!

Everything at this hostel was great! The staff were very helpful and spoke fluent english. The rooms were clean and very nice for a hostel. The back patio was the perfect place to relax and meet new people. We loved staying here and would recommend it to everyone.

Positive: Lovely garden and small pool. Decent breakfast. Well equipped but small kitchen, no other facilities offered. Double room was big and comfortable. Location is close to supermarket and main squares. Negative: Not a very social atmosphere. No hostel activities offered. Staff compliant but not overly helpful. We also stayed at Hostel Empedrado which we preferred.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hostel Alamo! The room was wonderful, very spacious and we really loved the courtyard area. It is in a wonderful location and the staff are extremely helpful. My only suggestion would be that the hot water was nearly nonexistent. It wasn't too big of a problem since it was so hot when we were there, but if it was any cooler it would have been a disappointment. Other than that though, GREAT HOSTEL! :)
