Overall, I could not find one thing bad about this hostel. Staff is extremely friendly and courteous. They can book tours for you also, which is nice. They serve a full breakfast for only 3 euro, and they are located only about a mile from the colosseum. If you want your Rome experience to be a good one, stay here. They will treat you right

Staff were fantastic - friendly, helpful and knowledgable. Free PC and internet was great, but unfortunately wifi was not available in the dorms. Rooms smelt poorly due to poor plumbing and airation. Rooms were spacious, but would benefit electronic locking.

They had free pasta every tuesday, thursday and saturday nights, which is wonderful for a broke college student like me. They also had many computers to use if you need to get in contact with anyone. A con though was that there was only one bathroom on the floor I was on for lots of people, so sometimes I had to go to another floor to use a bathroom. Also, the breakfast was not very tasty, even though it was three euro. I would definitely recommend this place though.

really big rooms & nice bathrooms. they had a pasta night every night when i was there & it was a cool way to get to know people (plus free dinner!) breakfast is kind of a rip off -- 3 euros for very little more than standard hostel breakfast -- but with the free dinner it pretty much evens out. staff was helpful, but average. the luggage room wasn't very secure (pretty much anyone could go in & out whenever they wanted.) overall, though, i enjoyed my stay.

They don't change the bottom sheets on the bed for each guest. I actually asked them about it and they gave me a new one. Bathrooms smelt TERRIBLE! Room near common room very noisy, but they moved me when I asked. Staff were friendly enough, but didn't seem that knowledgable on sights of Rome. Pretty good location. I stayed at another hostel in Rome for roughly the same price which was much worse.

This hostel was in a great location , for the metro, easy to find when you hop off at termini from the airport! toilets were clean ad likewise with the showers. there were a few complications with the wifi on the upper levels.

I enjoy the Alessandro, I have stayed there twice now. It is safe even thought it's near the train station, and this is from a solo female traveler. The staff are excellent and will take care of you. It's very clean. The only thing I suggest are individual lights for the bunks! There was only one overhead light in the room and it was on half the night as people came and went.

Cheap compared to other hostels and hotels in Rome - good value for money. I will stay there again if I return to Rome.

This is one of the best hostels I've stayed at during my Europe trip. Located minutes away from the central station, walkable to the Colloseum, it was very clean, the rooms were spacious, with a big table and chairs, so it doesn't feel crammed like some other hostels. There are also social activities, and option for breakfast/packed lunch.

Location was good, right round the corner from the train station. The staff we're pretty friendly if not a little sarcastic at times but that was prob their way of having fun. They say you have a kitchen to use but no stove, no microwave, just a kettle and bowls with lime 3 forks n 2 knives. Little deceptive when we were planning on using a kitchen. Rooms were good sized, bathrooms were good as well. Laundry was deceptive also as it said 4 euros for wash n dry but it's 4 for a wash OR dry.

The free pasta night was night, but the pasta runs out fast! So get there right away. I\'ve stayed in nicer hostels I guess, but it was good overall and I would recommend it.

I enjoyed the friendliness of the hotel staff. They made me feel like I was welcome there. But I didn't really appreciate constantly being asked if I want to go on tours and the "Pub Crawl." I said no to the Pub Crawl once and I was asked over and over again. This was a little frustrating. The bathrooms were very dirty and the rooms weren't always clean either. I didn't like having to use a different internet code for different parts of the hotel...it was quite annoying.

I had a great stay at this hostel. The staff was very nice and helpful, the atomosphere was good, the rooms and bathrooms were clean enough and I felt very comfortable staying here. I also slept very well at night (thanks to the wonderful thick blankets). The location was very close to the Termini Train station (which was extremely convenient) and close enough to some of the other sites in Rome. Would definitely stay here again!

The hostel was ok but there is no kitchen for guests, and the internet password changes each 3 hours (so you should move from your floor to the reception in order to ask for a new one). Hostels in Rome are expensive and Alessandro downtown is in the average, so my rate for the relation price-value is about the city in general. After some days i met friends i was waiting for and moved to a temporary apt. We payed the same rate than in the hostel for more space and better facilities. Recomend that
