Bit noisey and bathrooms didn't feel very clean. Otherwise fine for a brief stay

Only good things about the hostel was the security and the price -- rest was terrible! Incredibly incompetent staff who seem to do their best to avoid having to deal with customer requests or complaints. TWICE in the same night I returned to my room to find a different person sleeping in my bed who the staff put there. When I went to request a new bed, they begrudgingly strolled around the hostel looking at beds with messy sheets trying to determine "if anyone had been there in a while".

safe. beds seem clean. quiet. lots of young korean girls staying in dorm. remember to bring your own towel, slippers, shampoo/soap. some girls brought a spray to spray the bedding before sleepiing on it. they do give you clean sheets. bed is a single size bed. bunkbeds - ladder is a bit painful on your feet as it is metal that you are climbing on. bring a small lock as they have dresser drawers can you can lock to put your valuables in.

Me quede en una habitacion de cuatro camas pero con bano propio. Mi estadia fue muy placentera y el hostel esta solo a tres cuadras de la estacion central. El personal fue amistoso y servicial. Definitivamente me quedaria aqui de nuevo.

the staff is really atencious, interested. The comum WC could be cleaner, but in general I'd recommend the place for friends.

hostel was cold, the bathrooms are dirty,the bed are not confortable.they dont have enough plugs to charge everything and the dont have bed lightd either, the internet is bad and slow and keeps logging out. awesome location, but that is it.

The staff was not very helpful. The place was pretty dirty. The location was the only good part of the hostel. This is really a hostel that you only want to sleep at and that has not been my experience in the past. Usually I meet tons of people and the staff is energetic but here it was pretty bad.

The hostel showers/toilets smelt and even after they had just been cleaned they still smelt! You were only provided with one sheet and had to choose whether you'd touch the unwashed blanket (which also smelt) or the uncovered matress. The lock on the bedroom door was broken for two days and so anybody could just enter - though security at the desk was good, anybody staying within the hostel had access to our room. The staff were not so friendly.

Good place to stay, right next to Termini train station and a metro station, and convenient to visit all the main attractions in Rome...

Dont like the bathroom.....not help either from the member staff.

I just don't like the welcome drink to hi member - just wonder who will go to another pub for it.

Brekfast correct for a cheap price. Bathroom not so clean and not very convenient. Good location, close to the train station and the metro. In the Chinese district.

This hostel is in a superb location being that it is a mere 2 blocks from the bus/train/subway terminal. You are within walking distance to markets, restaurants, bars, and the various sites. In addition, the staff are FANTASTIC! Ask them any question and they will respond with a smile and with a answer. Something that would make this hostel even better: Cleaner bathrooms.

Very cold in hostel, internet was very slow and kept getting kicked off, staff seemed annoyed to help answer questions at times. About a 15-20 minute walk from the Coliseum, Roman Forum. A few blocks down from Rome Termini Station.

I am travelling with my wife and two sons (16 and 14). We found this hostel to be suitable for our needs but still remain surprised that the kitchen facilities in the hostels in Europe we have visited don't allow cooking. The three euro breakfast was standard and internet organisation good. However, we could not pick up wifi reception from room 201. So we needed to move to the common room. There is a lift and the hostel is close to the railway station.

hIs a really nice place to stay.. is also very close from Termini Station, and the rooms are brand new.. good atmosphere and clean as well.. The stuff is helpfull and they give you all the information you need.. theres one thing.. Wifi is free for only one hour per day so if you need more time you have to pay for it.. =S

The staff of Hostel Downtown is very impolite, bad educated and stupid. When we've tried to be nice with them, they were rude. They even had a discussion one against the other in front of us. One night the police sorrounded the hostel with a lot of police cars. We don't know what happened! The last night, a lot of children from a school slept in the hostel. It was really noisy. If you go to this Hostel try to be out of it most of the time and I hope you don't need staff help.

Very kind and helpful staff, impressive entrance with a great security system that makes me feel very safe and secure. And- a free pizza night! Great for someone on a budget. Free internet and computer room was wonderful as well. Thanks Hostel Alessandro!

The hostel has a fair price, but I hated the fact we have to pay for using internet and we cant use the kichen (which is a really nice one).

Alessandro Hostel Down Town is a very decent hostel: clean and large rooms (I stayed in the 4 bed dormitory which was nice), good beds, very well located and reasonable breakfast for 3 euros. However, it does not have a nice common area, and because of this there is no special ambiance in this Hostel.
