Is difficult because is a old house, but the underground rooms are quite soffocant an humid and the kitchen must be revisited, power up the wi-fi and do the breakfast or at least low down the price.

Luis, the owner of the hostel is a very nice and helpfull person. He and the others who work there are incredible!

In total a good hostel. For the money and location a good decission, but small rooms, thin walls and the owner wants money for everything extra (Luggagestor for 5 Reals or Shower and Toilet for 5 Reals, too). But a good decission, if you stay just one or two nights. Spezial Thanks to Guál Dídimo, he has a lot of spezial ideas for Belem and Brazil in total.

Just a shame you must book 4 beds even if you won t only 2 (the site make you book the hole room) so don t use hostelword to book this hostel but rather call them or send them a mail

Good and cheap

Really friendly and secure (locked door and windows at night). Good information about the city. Nice common area and kitchen as well. 24 hour check-in was also great.

Good location, easy walking distance to main street, centre of the city and just a few blocks from the water front. But extremely basic, private rooms have no windows, in general not cleaned well at all. Only 1 knife in kitchen, 2 cups with no handles, 2 old cooking pots & 3 plates. It would be easy and cheap to improve the supply of bare essentials.

Our room smelt of urine. The book exchange policy was a joke - you had to give 2 books to get only 1 back. Kitchen was severly understocked. Our food got stolen out of the fridge. We were not given any sheets to sleep with. The staff were not entirely helpful and when we asked the receptionist to please book us a taxi from the hostel to the port so that we could catch a boat, the taxi ended up taking us to the airport. The only 2 good things about this hostel is the price and the free wifi.

Very noisy and not very charming, but the position if great and it is quite cheap.

Can't beat the price for the location. I had a room at street level and it was still quiet at night.

No hot water at all, flying cockroaches the size of my index finger!

Owner Comment (Hide)
This guest didn't leave the key to clean the room, during one week she stayed here. Is hard to say the cause of the problem.

Very very very basic!!!! Cheap though and central. Other hostels nearby that are a little more expensive but have A/C which you will need here!

Owner Comment (Hide)
We have a/c optional (charge more) , and they spend more time than they booked.

Friendly place, though the rooms are really stuffy...

nice restaurant right next door, would be nice to have A/C, sauna conditions might be tough for some, overall good value.

a simple decent coat of paint over the shoebox white walls would make a massive difference... and maybe an extractor fan in the bathroom to remove the dampness the rooms have???

Very basic, but also cheap. Good location. If you are not looking for luxury but rather want to save money, take it.

Owner and staff are very very nice and helpful! Location is best! Also, restraunt under hostel is really GOOD and price is quite reasonable (ex. Lasagnia R$8) so you should definetly try it!!!!!

If you are looking for a clean, secury and a very located place to stay, I recomend, I e really recomend, besides a really good satff very helpful and genial. But there's only one problem, the kitchen has no appliances to cook, that can be a problem. But I do recomend and I could be there again.
