Good value for money in an excellent location close to all of La Fortuna's facilities. Reception staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. The room (double) was clean and spacious and probably the quietest of them all (room 9) with a daily housekeeping service. The on site bar closes down about 10-11pm which was ideal for early morning activities and the hammocks provide a good area to chill after a busy day.

Value for money! Nice hostel and very god and clean kitchen.
I stayed in the 6-female dorm, and its location is right beside the reception area. It was loud all night, and there was construction going on next door all day. I stayed 2 nights, and the large dorm room
This is probably one of the best hostels I have ever been to, and I have been to many around the world. The rooms felt more like a hotel room. The location is so much better then the Arenal Backpackers that is down the road, and everyone there said they got bug bites. From this place you can walk to all the restaurants, and no bug bites. The staff members are incredibly helpful, and will tell you what "tours" are not necessary. They aren't trying to make money from the tours.
The location was great and staff helpful. Watch out, there is an early curfew!!! Also, the dorms are crowded and have no windows... It can get pretty humid and smelly in there. Take a private room if you can.
The place was great! One of the front desk guys is much more friendly and helpful than the other, but not much to complain about otherwise. Fabio, the bartender, is amazing! We had a great time in Fortuna!
I've stayed in a lot of hostels around the world. This certainly wasn't the worst but it was far from the best. The dorm room had a large patches of mold on the walls and no window to the outside. Also, there was an incident in which one girl staying at the sister hostel down the street had her passport and wallet stolen by a guy who was staying there as well. When I saw the guy walking around I asked the front desk why they didn't call the police and they said they didn't want to get involved.
fully equiped kittchen,comfortable room,especially AC!fast wifi,this is good hostel for travellar.Arigatou!
This Hostel was in a great location. Walking distance to many restaurants, gift shops, and tour guide stands. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Great location, friendly staff! It is nice that we could use the sister bar's pool and brunch option!

Staff (Edison) were cool and make big efforts to help. One very drunk guest was moved to another room so he wouldn't disturb us. The bar area is good fun and the beds are quite comfortable.
The hostel was great. Nice bar area for watching World Cup matches, hammocks for lounging, and community spaces with fussball (table soccer), etc. The staff offered fantastic suggestions for food (typical and western restaurants). One suggestion though, more outlets would be appreciated for travelers with technology to recharge. Besides that, no complaints.
We enjoyed our stay at La Fortuna. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the room and kitchen were incredibly clean. We stayed in a private room that was very comfortable with AC. The bar in the hostel makes for a nice way to meet people. Since it closes at 10, there is not too much concern about people being loud at night. We would recommend it!
Nice quiet hostel. Great kitchen and easy access to supermarkets. Main guy in reception was friendly and really helpful. Dorms are a bit small, but air conditioned which was nice.
Great hostel , definitely would stay here again. AC is a great thing in Central America . The only down side of this hostel is the reduced amount of plugs in the room. Beside that all good.
The people, location and cleanliness were great here..I was put off by the online description though. I was expecting a swim up pool but when I got there and found no pool I reread the description and noticed it says that you have to go to another hostel a block away to get to the pool. The place a block away is the Arenal Hostel Resort. Definitely check out Salto, the (free!) water pool/rope swing..it's awesome!
We only stayed here for one night but we were made to feel at home straight away and staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.
