Absolutely amazing hostel, we've travelled a lot & stayed in so many different hostels and this is one of the best we've had the pleasure of staying in. You could lose yourself for days here as it's so chilled out with so much to keep you occupied, movies, tv, pool table, music, even guitar hero & a wii! The rooms are lovely and cosy and the kitchen is big and well stocked, there's also a garden to hang out in. The staff are so friendly and I would definately recommend Bekou hostel to everyone!

Stayed here our first night in Costa Rica. Found it a little odd... No lock on our dorm room, one of the staff members kept walking in the room and using the bathroom - dont know why. Garden and kitchen nice, beds a little basic and didnt feel too clean. Nice and quiet though in the evening so if you want somewhere cheap to kip for a night it's not the worst place.

Staff was really nice and helpful. But perhaps they could remove some special movies from the DVD-shelf as not everybody wants to listen to cruel torturing of people while working on the internet.

Great stay at the Hostel Bekuo, I can definitely say it feels like being at home there. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The dorms are good and clean. There is a nice little garden. The staff took us out to some bars at night, they also suggested some dinner to gather everyone. Really good social effort! The only detail to improve would be the internet, which was really not working well.

One of the best hostels during this trip. Excellent facilites, friendly and helpful staff. Brian was just awesome person, easily available and full of high quality advices:-) Center of the city is eadily reachable by foot if you are not afraid of 15 min walking. Just across the road you have huge and nice Auto Mercado, where you can buy literally everything to eat, even fresh made sushi. Glad we have reservation for coming back to San José!

It's a bit out of the centre, but you wouldn't necessarily want to be based in the very centre of San Jose. That said, a 10min taxi or a combination of buses is usually required to get to/from bus station and other central points. The atmosphere that was in the hostel was all generated by travellers, especially at breakfast time.

The most backpackers' friendly hostel I've stayed at during my entire Central America trip. I woke up a tad bit past their breakfast time, but the "chef of the day" was willing to make an exception and fed me awesome pancakes. My departure timing to my next destination is not until late in the evening, yet the hostel allowed me to stay and hang out at the hostel beyond my check-out time. They were generous in their timing allowance that I even had dinner before I left my trip.

I positively loved this hostel. The staff is so kind and hospitable. Just a lovely environment. I'm sorry that I was only there for 1 night. Oh, and they have a sweet pet bunny that roams the courtyard. I highly recommend this place.

I've never seen a better hostel owner then Bryan. At the beginning I didn't even understand it was the owner :), really great guy. Apart from Bryan the staff was awesome, Irene helped me find a ticket for the "sele" match the same day I arrived and...a lot of other things. The location is really good, 15 min walk to downtown and near barrio san Pedro e La california (a lot of bars and clubs). The hostel is clean, they offer pool games and wii and TV and computer. I've met a lot nice people!

this is one of the best hostels, I have been so far. It's size is perfect, not too big and not too small. The atmosphere is familiar, it's quiet at night and beds are comfortable. The best thing about this hostel is, that the staff really likes their job and do not really consider it as a job. The city center is about 15 min. away by walking. Also the area seems to be very safe and you even can walk at night. I highly can recommend this hostel!

Nice hostel, great staff, good layout. Cute bunny in backyard) Only thing was that not a lot of great food choices close by, but at least the hostel sells snacks and cervesa and is near the mall. Very welcoming, and it was nice to have a relatively spacious dorm, i love that there are dorms that are not coed. Nice perks such as free internet and 2 computers, a pool table, lots of games, tv in common area, books, and a GREAT free breakfast!! Super plus for the pancakes!!

The staff here were very friendly even warning me against getting taxis from the bus station. The hostel has excellent WIFI and is located in San Pedro which is a very safe area of San Jose and only about a 5-10 min bus ride from El Centro. They offered chap beers by Costa Rica standards right at the front desk. They even offered free breakfast of pancakes and coffee. I liked this place and hope to stay again on my next trip.
