Very basic place. Stay if you really have to. Far away from public transport (10 minutes walk to bus stop), hard to find (no sign whatsoever), no shops in the neighbourhood. The room was noisy, fan hardly working and bathroom dirty. Not very plesant experience.

very unclean shower facilities, possible bedbugs and unfriendly staff
After using the directions to lead us to the general vicinity of the hostel, we walked around in 30+ degree heat with our backpacks searching for this place. With no sign outside, and no mention in the directions that there IS NO SIGN, and after asking about three businesses where it was, we finally tracked it down. After mentioning to the guy at reception that they either need a sign, or to mention that it doesn't have one, I was given the brush off. No apology, no nothing. No wifi in rooms too
The hostel is located quite far from the city centre, but there is two trams stop-point nearby that eventually can get you to the city centre. The price listed were not include the city tax! and linen :( Since I stayed for 3 nights, I had to pay extra € 13.5!! Extra €1 for towel, and surprisingly another €2 for locker key!!! At my last day, the toilet was horrible! But it wasn't the hostel fault. Someone' towel dropped on the floor that caused a little flood in the toilet!
worst hostel i've ever been to. dirty, unhelpful staff, closed common room at 11.
Not a very nice experience. The worst hostel we stayed at during our travels. No shower, as many beds crammed into a room as possible, unfriendly staff and not very clean. However the comfiest bed in all of Europe, so I guess that's something.
Very expensive and quite far from st gallens centre. Fantastic staff, facilities, cleanliness but thats switzerland
I only stayed there one night. Breakfast is not included, is not very far from train station, you cant lock your room, so everyone can enter, bathrooms smell worse than train toiletes, but beds are clean. They have a kitchen, that is good. They also have internet, but only on the reception, so you have to stay near, and there is no place to sit, only the floor. Is not a perfect hostel, but I think is good for the money you pay.
Room too hot, impossible to sleep. Common area closes at 11 pm. Place was dirty. Tables and benches were old and poor.
This hostel is literally the worst hostel I've ever stayed at.... When i opened the door of my room, it was just sooooo crowded where more than a reasonable number of beds were placed . It made me feel like getting into a Nazi camp right away. It's also quite a walk to the metro station. In short, it sucks.
The place is great value for money and has a nice area for meeting up, only negative there is they close down the common room at 23:00 Security is sound outside the room, with access gates and security cameras and a watchful receptionist but inside the dormitories things went missing during my stay and constantly notices my combination padlock had been played with. Lock and key would be more useful here, though they can hold your valubles behind the front desk.
Hostel is terrible, more so because of the staff than anything else. I can forgive a hostel for being unclean, unorganized, lacking in amenities, but the extremely poor staff quality I received at this hostel is unforgivable. I will forever remember that this is a terrible place and will forever tell people about the horrendous quality of service, and other problems, I faced here.
Cheapest hostel I've ever stayed in. Location wasn't great. People were smoking in the common room which I didn't like. Other than that, my stay was fine.

There is not much this hostel can actively do to improve, the location is a bit far out, the price should include tax, there should be a common area as the kitchen closes at 11, hire some young enthusiastic receptionists, get some better pans for the kitchen, fix the electrical sockets, mosquito screens on the window, quite the fans, install better lights, next time I'll pay a bit more for something better. I did not mind the stay to much but the girls hated the experience.

Hostel is pretty hard to find if you dont ask someone. If you're going in the summer it'll be uber hot and they dont have air conditioning (I'm guessing it'll be reversed in the winter). Staff is aiiiight but they could definitely improve on attitude. I have no personal qualms with any of the staff but seeing them handle the other customers made me not want to ask them for anything. There was a big commotion about bed bugs and silver fish in my dorm room so cleanliness is iffy. Overall aiiiight.
If you like to stay in a place with bed bugs, sword fish, an insane amount of mosquitoes due to having the windows open all night so that you don't roast in the roof, then this place is for you. If you like tosquat while having a shower because i is built where the roof slants and like being spoken to rudely when you tell the staff that your bed has bed bugs and have them say its your fault and you should have told them sooner (before you found them?)again you would love this place.
Good hostel. A bit out of the way, but five minute walk from a metro which is very cheap and only takes about ten minutes to get to the centre of town. Comfortable dorm beds, good common area and clean bathrooms. Decent wifi too. No kitchen or breakfast. You get a lot here for ultra cheap!
The place isn't too far from the train station but not centrally located either. No air conditioning so windows had to be left open, a good way in for mosquitoes. Wi-fi is available but only in the small lobby where there are no chairs to sit down so people gather against the walls or on the floor. The amenities are not particularly clean and the staff not overall friendly. Finally, there is a hidden tax for compulsory linen which, to me, is always akin to a rip-off.
Very nice hostel and staff, was made to feel welcome and participate in events, such as karaoke at a local bar and competitions in the hostel. I liked the age range of the people there as there were families and people in their 40s and 50s and everyone blended in.
Pretty average place overall. One guy on the staff seemed pretty sketch. Every time a girl wearing a skirt would go up the stairs he would suddenly "need" to go up the stairs right behind her; he'd be back a minute later and return to the front desk.
