More a hotel than a hostel (but good value nonetheless) I stayed here on new years day and it was empty to the point that I thought I was going to be followed around by two ghostly girls on tricycles.. Great breakfasts, and nice room, but my room on return was hotter than the sun, even with a fan. Pantanal Tour was outstanding value though. The lodge, activities and guide (Johnie 'Walker') were great. Was a bit scared of the Ecological Expeditions reviews online, but it turned out really well.

Staff are very friendly and overly keen to ensure that you also book a Pantanal tour with them - they also offer a free night in the hostel upon your return if you do so (ensure to keep the receipt of the Pantanal tour as evidence for your free night or else you will be charged). Rooms are fairly basic but adequate - needs more cleaning and improved plumbing!

if you take the pantanal tour don't forget to remind them that last night is supposed to be free, i forgot to mention it again.. so payed for all nights and i didn't get any receipt, also.. the put me into much more expensive room since they didn't have the room i reserved. they don't care about making good reputation just about the money. be careful and make everything clear in the beginning

The owner of the hostel recommended their equivalent hostel in Bonito and advised he would book this for us. We arrived around 9pm after travelling all day from the Pantanal to be told that he had ´forgotten´ to book this and the hostel was full. Luckily we found accommodation elsewhere, but none in our price range for the next day. As such we didn´t get to see any of the highlights of Bonito. Disgraceful way to run a business and no apology.

We had made a booking through hostel world weeks previously, but the hostel had no record of it and no spare rooms. This was very inconvenient as we turned up ate and had no idea how to get around the city. There were two members of staff on the desk - one was eventually helpful and found us somewhere else to stay. The other was openly talking to his girlfriend on skype and it was difficult to see what purpose he was serving at all. Generally poor service.

The pool area is very nice, although the water was cold! There is almost no kitchen, impossible to use, there nothing to use! The staff is helpfull ! The shower runs with eletricity and it shocked us 2 times, so the security is zero!!! Not bad location, but nothing special!
