This is an average hostel. No character, no frills. My room was clean and services were good. They did pick me up at the airport after I only sent an e-mail message 2 days before. What to watch for here is the push to purchase tour packages to Pantanal. The tour is "questionable". I had a good time but most will be frustrated with the services and facilities there. They try to overcharge you and under-deliver. Do some research and try a different tour.

We got very good deal here, all what they write about free pick up from bus station, about free night in their hostel if you book Pantanal tour with them, all is correct and they did everything for us exactly as they promoted. Breakfast is good here, and we especially liked animal' s wall-paintings downstairs, great job! We were happy here as well as with 4-days tour what we booked here. I read many bad reviews on internet, but our experience was very opposite. Overall all waa good. Thanks

Breakfast was perfect, rooms were nice and the pool was good. Though, the staff seemed to be only interested in selling their Pantanal tour. The guide looked like he was intoxicated all day and started drinking bears at breakfast times. The way of selling was very pushy, we hated it and looked for a different tour. We were so happy with our choice when we saw their tourguide bullying a cayman just to look supercool. What an idiot.

Do NOT go on the tour! They lied to me and they ri[pped me off. Also, the tour guides were disrespectful throughout the trip. They drank a bottle of alcohol which I got and then denied it. Whatever you do, don\'t go to the Pantanal with this company.

Don't rely on them picking you up from the airport. The hostel was ok, quiet when we were there. Breakfast was good. Nice pool but could do with cleaning. We did the pantanal tour with them despite hearing bad things and had a really good time

The rooms need a good clean... I was bitten by bed bugs in my first room and found the same in my second room when moved.

Average hostel, ok for a night. BUT, DO NOT BOOK A TOUR WITH ECOLOGICAL EXPEDITIONS!!! We have booked a Pantanal Tour in Campo Grande Hostel (from Rodrigo) on Feb 22nd for 4D/3N. We were very unhappy with this tour. You end up on a farm in the Pantanal with nothing to do except two short activities a day. You cannot do anything else on your own because you cannot leave the property without a boat, which you do not get. The guides (esp. Elias) were very unmotivated, only saw a few birds!

More a hotel than a hostel (but good value nonetheless) I stayed here on new years day and it was empty to the point that I thought I was going to be followed around by two ghostly girls on tricycles.. Great breakfasts, and nice room, but my room on return was hotter than the sun, even with a fan. Pantanal Tour was outstanding value though. The lodge, activities and guide (Johnie 'Walker') were great. Was a bit scared of the Ecological Expeditions reviews online, but it turned out really well.

Staff are very friendly and overly keen to ensure that you also book a Pantanal tour with them - they also offer a free night in the hostel upon your return if you do so (ensure to keep the receipt of the Pantanal tour as evidence for your free night or else you will be charged). Rooms are fairly basic but adequate - needs more cleaning and improved plumbing!
