All in all the stay was good. San Telmo is really nice neighborhood to stay in! Especially the cafe at the corner is nice! The staff was really nice. The breakfast is not that good- only some bread with dulce de leche, milk and cereal. Also our room was not the best. We did not have ac, only a fan, which would not have been a problem, but we only had a window to the hallway with hardly any fresh air during the night. We had to get up during the night and open the window like 3-5 times...
Our room had a broken AC which in the summer in Buenos Aires is miserable. We asked the staff about it and they said someone would come around 9p to fix it. At 10p I went downstairs to ask and they said it won't be fixed until next week. Made me feel like they knew that all along but wanted us to wait so we couldn't find another hostel. Not the best nights rest.

Perfect place for couples, but not much more than a nice clean place to sleep.
Excellent location in San Telmo! One block from the San Telmo market & Sunday Antique street market. Brand new rooms with air-conditioning. Modern, new and spotlessly clean bathrooms with hot water. Breakfast included. This hostel provides more of a hotel setting than a hostel vibe so there isn't an 'atmosphere' to speak of but it's pleasant, quiet & private. It is a great place if you just want a few days to yourself away from the busy hostel scene. It's location in San Telmo can't be beat!
This hostel has a fantastic style, a great location, an intimate atmosphere and a very nice terrace. If you're looking for a San Telmo base in Buenos Aires, this is a great (and very reasonably priced) choice.
We had a wonderful stay at Hostel Carlos Gardel. The rooms are clean and well-kept and we were lucky enough to have one that looked out onto the balcony. The bathrooms, although shared, are extremely clean and there is plenty of hot water. The staff was very friendly and after a long early flight they allowed us to check in early with all of our luggage. Great value for the money and located in a wonderful neighborhood!
The hostel was great. The rooms are very confortable. The only bad thing was the thin doors, which did not block any sound people made in the common area of the hostel.

Just a nice place close to many restaurants. Staff doesn't speak English but is friendly and helpful
