The hostel is great place as a hostel, staff is very helpfull. I only spent one night and was very pleased with it. I'd say the hostel has a lot of big spaces, big rooms, big beds, big garden, bog common area. Not sure about location, it looks very suspicious, but maybe the entire santo domingo is like that, i'd never know, as I said I dod not see much of teh city. But the hostel is secure and everything.

Except for the floors everything was clean. Well worth the money, we would recomend it to anyone visiting santo domingo. Directions to the hostel from the airport need an update cause it was hard to find, and there is nooooooo way we would have ound it if we had taken the bus. Difficult with communication because none of the staff spoke english, but they were wery helpfull in what way they could.

In the Caribs, I've been to Nassau-Bahamas, SanJuan-Puerto Rico, Willemstad-Curacao and several towns in Cuba and DominicanRep and in my opinion, this is the BEST hostel within this price range.

Casa Grande was everything that we were hoping for, for an inner capital hostel. Plenty of communal showers and a few great common areas.

This really is a huge house. Bedrooms open onto open air walkways, a lounge is to the left on both levels, w/ bathrooms at the other end on both and a kitchen and picnic table upstairs. Wifi worked well in the lounge and our rm (b/c it was next to the lounge). No A/C; bedroom windows are open grates w/o screens- I got bug bites both nights. Staff are friendly, but don't nec. Speak English (was not a problem). Location is perfect. No breakfast included but shared fridge.

Great hostel, cheap and in very good location! Only problem we had was with a taxi to the airport.. We agreed on the price in the evening, checked 2 times that the taxi was coming, cuz our flight was early in the morning.. But when we got down there was no taxi booked and suddenly the price was 1.5 times what we agreed before.. And the man at the reception said if we are not happy with the man he called for that price, we can just leave the hotel and try to find another one 0500 in the morning..

My friends and I enjoyed our stay at your hostel. The staff was accomodating, helpful and friendly. The hostel is in a good location, very close to El Conde and walking distance to many monuments. We felt safe during our stay. The other guests were friendly also. One complaint: it appeared the bed sheets had not been changed prior to our stay. Overall: we would stay at Casa Grande again and recommend to others. Gracias!

Half renaissance villa, half tree house, this charmingly traditional hotel is so new that when I stayed there workers were still adding decorations and drainage systems to the roof. It is clean and spacious, and very close and conveniently located to Calle Conde, which is one of the social centers of the Zona Colonial. Staff were helpful, especially the manager, who has considerable experience in hostels elsewhere on the Island. I appreciated their work to obtain a lower taxi fare to airport!
