Really loved this place, this hostel probably had the best atmosphere for meeting people I've encountered. The activities every night were really great too. Very clean. The owner was super nice, but although the staff were helpful, they weren't very enthusiastic either. The only 'con' is the location is far, but it's also close to a few bus routes so still easy to get places. I would DEFINITELY (and have already) recommend this place, and will definitely be staying here next time I come to Vegas!

My stay at the cat(as they called it) was on average. Some of the staff were nice, some didn't even want to be there(in my opinion) The owner/manager wasn't a pleasant person, instead of mingling with the guest, he was always on his phone (take that stupid bluetooth out of you ear for God sake) I've stayed at other hostels before, and I didn't understand why the common room was closed so early, it closed at 1am.

Owner Comment (Show)
The common area in courtyard & at BBQ & picnic table are open 24 hours. Most hostels close kitchen to prevent drunk guests from making mess & stealing other guests' food. Cleanliness & protecting the budget of our guests is important to us. 24 hour reception may be on the way this spring, but like many small hostels we chose cheap rates for the guests over adding another 7 shifts at night when most guests are partying or sleeping. Sorry if managers answering guest phone calls during work caused you to be unhappy, but we believe that is normal & you will probably find this in most businesses. Manager takes out tour groups about 5 times per week & according to other guest reviews is quite friendly & helpful. Have a great time in Hawaii John!

This hostel looks old but it is just fine from most points of view. Stayed in two different rooms. One was fine. The mattress in the other one needed to be replaced. Other than that, free wi-fi was convenient. Free pancakes were also good.

The room smells, and at that night, i think got the reason, there was a woman who caught very heavily, I decided to change a room. but when I go to the reception. It closed. And there is a note, says if I ring the bell at night, I'm gonna lost my key deposit!! But I don't want to go back to the room and get sick. I just stayed out side in winter Las Vegas for about 1 hr , and walked to an other hotel, and stayed there.

I stayed here for a few days. It is usually the most affotrdable options in Vegas and as close to the big casinos and attractions as you can get while still being affordable. I also liked that they were right on a 24 hour bus line (the deuce) The dorm I staid in was stotless- and spartan- pretty standard hostel wise. I hearda few travelers during my stay who.were not happy- but I got the impresession they hadn't stayed at a hostel and expected a room themselves.

Really nice staff and awesome activities! You can do pub crawls, BBQs, etc. for cheap money and get to know so many people! You can even go there by yourself and as long as you are open to others, you will immediately meet people and have a great time!

good hostel, not great.. everything was clean enough, however, because most of the common stuff is painted black with purple and yellow it kind of looks old and dirty but it isn't.. It is kind of far from the strip but you can get anywhere with the 'deuce' bus 24/7. they organize nice events for everyone. Only thing I would complain about (but I already told them that) is that they claim to want to be green but the blanket they provide is not warm enough to turn off heating at night in winter.

I would definitely recommend to stay at Hostel Cat. Best location for a hostel in Vegas and they have awesome tour. Be aware that it's minimum 15 min walk from the first big hotel( Stratosphere) on the strip so around 30min to 1hours to go at the real centre of the strip so where the action are but if you don't want to walk it's easy to just take a bus that run pretty much all the time. It's clean and have everything you need to have a good trip. I loved it, I would stay again there.

Secure hostel, unfortunately not that much common activities during the weekdays. Easy to take a bus to the hotel zone and casinos. However, there's pretty much nothing where the hostel is located. Lockers are small, not possible to lock up whole luggage.

I've been in the us for about 6 weeks now and this place is probably the best place I've stayed. They have rules on the wall that pretty much mirror my values. Get drunk, have fun, be cheap. Also the staff were awsome, Davina was super cool and hot. The people living there are cool too, Derek is a legend, Andrew cooks a mean rib,
