CONS: Dirty, crammy little room with no place to store luggage - not to speak of a personal locker. lots of holes in the sheets and linens, bathroom with no window. External weirdos who are not hostel guests roam bar and lobby area (I did not feel safe). No free early breakfast. Wifi only for one device, plus the Wifi is sh...ty because of many, confusing access points with bad reception. no wifi in the room. a lot of construction on the roof floor. PRO: former prison/metelkova area

Staff was excellent, as was the location - only about a five minute walk from the main train station. The people, also, who choose to stay at this hostel are incredible, unique individuals - great company. Rooms are a bit cramped, and the bathroom was dirty (7 people sharing the room). The beds on the end in the multi-person room are right next to each other like a queen bed, so if you are travelling alone, you could end up sharing a bed with a stranger in a mixed dorm.

The hostel is very clean, the location is just 5-10 mins walk from train station. Nice hostel, but I feel it's too commercial for me. Besides, there still should be a person at reception desk when they are doing hostel tour. For the security, they suggested me put my laptop at reception. I almost missed my train because I couldn't find any one to get my laptop back since the receptionist was have a tour with other guests.

Very good hostel !!! Funny concept, nice and warm staff and really good atmosphere in there. Bathrooms were ok, the dorm I slept in was really tiny, could have been a bit larger. Does not matter cause it is an amazing place you can go for it right now !!

Rooms are funky being an old prison but small... but that's not what it's about.. The street art/ scene is second to none.. Highly recommended

Very nice hostel. Close to the old town and train station. Kitchen might be a bit small. Still, highly recommended.

I really enjoy the city and hostel. Been there 3 times and stayed each time at the hostel. Was nice if you wanted to spend a few days in the area, or use it as a quick layover to somewhere else.

I really liked the common area, I thought it had quite good character to it. The staff were also very nice. The wifi worked well in the common room but did not work most of the time in the rooms. One thing that fustrated me was a severe lack of power sockets. The few that i was able to locate were also in the most inconvenient locations. The rooms were also tiny and there were no lockers.

Nice place. A little bit of a walk to the city centre but it's good exercise.... Lovely restaurant and bar downstairs and the staff are very pleasant. I was in a 4 bed dorm which had no lockers unfortunately but the staff were willing to store any valuables in safe. Cool place though!

This was a unique hostel with a great building. One of the showers in the large dorm had no water pressure. Other than that I had zero complaints. It was an excellent atmosphere with a great staff ! Everyone was very helpful and friendly even when I arrived at 6 AM instead of my planned 3 PM. PM . The location is also excellent making it easy to explore the city.

So different, which is a good thing, I reckon. In our two-person room the beds were on a high, raised platform and slightly precarious to access but it was definitely an experience. If you want maximum comfort perhaps not the place to go but I'd recommend this place to any traveller. Memorable. Had to pay for internet and the staff at the front desk were a bit matter-of-fact, but all in all, worth staying. It's no run of the mill hostel, and I imagine in summer it would be a great place to go.

This place was sooo cool, i'm glad i stayed there. And its right smack in the middle of Metelkova, which is a strip of Bars and Clubs artistically designed. But you cant hear anything from your cell:)

A great little hostel! Excellent location - not far from the centre of town and very close to the bus/train station. Would have liked to have lockers in the rooms, and a little more leg room in the beds (I am 5'7 and had no problem but my 6' boyfriend was too tall for the bed) but otherwise the facilities were great.

Very nice hostel to stay in. Good location for train station and city. Found the breakfast to be slightly overpriced due to little choice. But overall very satisfied.

I had an amazing time here! I would highly recommend to any traveler. The bar and food were great, the staff were awesome- so friendly and fun, and it's located literally right next to Metelkova- trust me, a brilliant place to hangout on a weekend night. It's also really close to the international bus station and the train station. Enjoy! :)

The hostel was lovely and the staff were great! A bit on the pricey side - the hostel is renowned for it's reinvention of an old jail, but a cell room would set you back nearly 20€ in the winter! I ended up staying in their 12 bed dorm for 14€ for the night, which was not too bad. Breakfast is an extra 3€. It's located close to the train station and a short walk from the museum district. A nice place overall!
