Was traveling alone from the states and got lucky with such a great spot. The staff was genuinely friendly and accommodating. It was easy to make friends and go out right from the hostel. About a 15 minute to the main town but i suggest renting bikes from the hostile during the day.

Takes about 20 minutes to walk into the center of town. Quiet and quite depressing in the communal area. Very steep going up stairs and read that they offered many facilities - when I approached and asked them about it they said that the sign was 3 months old and should have been taken down.

There is on member of staff who's a decent guy, he's happy and does want to help. In saying that this whole business runs to make money- not to make guests stay a good one. This place is HORRENDOUSLY expensive for what it is, it is literally just a dirty bed and tiny bathroom. All else I.e lookers and breakfast are extra costs. The hidden 5% charge for paying on card is utterly ridiculous, you are a hostel, as well as city tax! The communal areas are non existent, so don't expect to meet people

The staff at the hostel were friendly and very helpful, which made the overall experience very pleasant. This hostel is located about a 20 min walk from the central train station, which made it very easy to commute around by foot. The hostel was quite expensive, but this seems to aligned with other hostels within the city at the time of my stay. I would recommend this hostel for anyone looking for the basics and a place to securely store your bags while touring the city.

Wifi was hit or miss especially if you were far away from the common area. Kitchen was messy and it was hard to find the proper things to cook with. Common room was small and not very inviting. There's no lockers.

I have spent three nights at the Centraal hostel, my room was the number 15 at the ground floor. Beds, bathroom, showers and floor were always clean; areas in common were clean too and there was some available food in the kitchen. Staff was helpful and when something was out of order, they repaired all very quickly; they gave maps and information to everybody. One night staff offered everybody a slice of pizza.

Would not stay here. Overall the most important thing to point out was that we all got sick. Not sure if it was the dirty water, the small rooms or dirty facilities. The water stopped working for a while, no cups or knives. But the worst thing of all: they moved their office into the common room while we stayed there. They can watch you and it's just awkward. Also the wifi is so bad you can't load anything

Location feels quite safe and only a short tram ride to the city centre & really close to tram stop. However not much to see in the local area. Reception is in a pharmacy next to the hostel and the staff are often busy and the desk is often shut quite early. Facilities were good and seemed generally clean but not nearly enough for the amount of people staying in the room. Seem very overpriced for what it is but made a good base for first interrail stop. Atmosphere is quite quiet & unfriendly

Its a dad and son team. They care about this place more than anyone I ever met. The son knows perfect English too. The dad puts his heart into this place. Cleans the kitchen multiple times a day and will do anything for his clients. A bit out of the way from the heart of the city, but honestly. Its worth it. Rooms are SMALL and yes stairs are STEEP. So keep that in mind. But given the staff I would recommend it. Just rent a bike or scooter to get around the city.

Nice hostel on east Amsterdam. Located near the zoo, at 20-30 min walk or 10 min bike ride from city center. They do rent very cheap and good bikes at the hostel and that's great. Beds are comfy, bathrooms very small yet clean. Rooms are very small but ok. The staff are extremely nice and helpful! I would trust them with my life! The neighborhood has some amazing cafe, gelato and burger places. Just a bit expensive for what you get, but that is Amsterdam. I would stay here again.

Place is fine. Amsterdam is expensive so it's good if your on a budget. Everything is mediocre, but everything you need is there.

The hostel is cheaper but you can see why when you get there. It's in a quiet neighborhood. The facilities were okay, but mostly outdated and not very clean. If you looking for a few nights in an average place then this is for you. It didn't really lend itself to my stay in Amsterdam.

The rooms where extremely small for the amount of beds in it. There was no space for moving and for the luggage and very little ventilation.

Room was very hot. 12 people to one bathroom. No space to put things. No lockers etc

Owners were very accommodating and it was a bit far from everything but really not too bad of a walk. Although I do not recommend walking to the Heineken place.

This hostel was a mix of good and bad. When I showed up to check in the guy that ran it wasn't there, even though I had given him my check in time. There was also no breakfast served like it had said there would be in the hostel and on the site. The location was not "central" like it had you believe. Probably a 25-30 min walk to the center of the city, but not too bad at all. Beds were rock hard, there were no towels, and the wifi hardly ever worked, but it was good simple place to stay.

Staff are amazing

My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our stay here! Firstly I would like to remind people that this is a HOSTEL, not a hotel. And for a hostel it was pretty good. There was a clean bed to sleep in, toilets and showers that worked and key card locked doors. They had just installed a kitchen which was really great. The owner is so nice! We spoke to him and you can really tell he cares about the hostel and is trying to improve it in every way he can. The location is also pretty good. Would recommend.
