Fabulous

The hostel was a great location as it was a little bit away from the central station but only a few minutes of a walk from the tourist attractions such as van gogh etc the hostel was close to two tram stops that got you to the city centre very quickly it was also close to the leidsplein square which was excellent for night life. The room itself was very small and didnt allow for much wiggle room but it was clean enough. The toilet smelt a small bit but other than that the room was good value.

The bathrooms were disgusting and never had soap or toilet paper. The rooms were poorly ventilated and smelled horrendous. The heating only made it worse. Despite there being a no drug or alcohol policy at the hostel, it still smelled like marijuana.

Hostel Cosmos Amsterdam says

We have a lot of nice extras for our guests, like free Wi-Fi throughout the whole hostel. If you forget your laptop or smartphone we also have PCs in the lobby for a very small charge. On arrival you'll find a freshly made-up bed and free linen, which can be a pleasant surprise after a long trip. We have lots of helpful books that you can borrow and swap, plus bikes are for rent directly from the hostel and the free walking tour starts just around the corner. As we're not a huge hostel, we consider our guests to be actual guests rather than just a number. That's why we like to call ourselves 'cosy' and do our best to maintain our laidback atmosphere. Simba, our cat, is definitely unique and loved by many - we think she RULES. As for our other features, our stairs are always feared at first but the guests get a proud feeling when they manage to walk them like a local does. They're surely considered unique! Actually, the whole building is unique, as it's existed for more than 100 years; it's a typical old Dutch building and is protected as a monument. We're less than 15 minutes by foot from loads of attractions, like Dam Square, Rembrandtplein, Leidseplein, Rembrandt House, Anne Frank House and the Red Light District. Personally I like going to Vondel Park on sunny days and Museum Square and/or Anne Frank House on rainy days.
