The staff was friendly at first but one other client tried to bring a bottle of beer in it and the staff guy got very mad and was extremely rude. The location is very good however and the rooms were clean. There are only one shower and one wc for the whole hostel (approximatively 20 people) which is a real problem every morning. This hostel is expensive but all the hostel are in Amsterdam.

The free coffee and tee in the morning is just perfect, combined with a nice conversation with the people there.

it sucked! the people in the reception weren't helpful at all! They wouldn't give me the room i payed for and it was too expensive in comparison with the facilities they had. the room wasn't very nice and we had to share a bathroom between 16 people in the same floor. it was DISGUSTING!

Awesome location. Nice rooms, free wifi and friendly cat. And they kept our luggage after we checked out.

The room is too small for the amount of people there and the environment is too noisy.

This place is perfectly located. I booked one night, but they ended up being able to accommodate me for a second, despite it being a busy Friday night. Simba is ADORABLE, and the staff were very helpful. I especially liked the 24-hour reception. They're really careful about who they let in at night, which made up for the fact that there are's just one key for each room. The facilities were pretty standard--make sure you get up early if you want a warm shower. I definitely recommend this place.

This hostel is completely overrated. Was terribly expensive for... well, a bed and a toilet -shared 15ppl+ The staff were dodgy in terms of encouraging you not to use the lockers, which by the way were terribly expensive for a reason -10 euro deposit and 1 euro a day for a wee tiny locker??- Oh, and some guy 'lost' his wallet and mobile while in his first night. Got to be very cautious.. I wouldn't recommend anyone staying in the Hostel Cosmos in such a beautiful city as A'dam.

Worst hostel I've ever stayed at. The management is extremely unfriendly and unaccommodating. Moreover, the place is a dump for the price. There are plenty of better spots with better amenities and staff for the same or less cost. You could not pay me to stay here again.

This was a great place to be based in Amsterdam- and my experience was positive except for one very rude staff member. Because of this one man who was aggressive, argumentative, and even followed me into the room to try and argue with me- i felt very uncomfortable, I will not be staying here again. It's a shame, because the other staff members were lovely, It's sad that it only takes one person to ruin a beautiful experience.

People who are carrying luggage from the airport would find it difficult to climb 2 flights of narrow stair just to get to the reception. The hostel itself was so narrow and the rooms are very cramp. Putting 9 people in one small bedroom is not a very good idea specially for safety purposes in cases of fire.Overall I had a very bad experience with this Hostel and would not recommend it to any of my friends. They should show pictures of their entrance and their rooms so that people will decide.

Excellent location. Definitely close to everything. The rooms were tiny, they just squeezed in as many beds as possible. No room for luggage at all. Security sucked too, and you had to pay for lockers. Anyone could have walked in. It was ok for one night but I couldn't have stated for longer than that!

Location of the hostel was great, about a 10 minute walk from the Red Light District and from Centraal Station. Room was clean, but security and was horrible. Even though staff have televions at the front desk to watch all activity in the hostel, they failed to notice the suspicious activity of someone coming into our room. When confronting the staff they were horribly unhelpful, were unresponsive to our complaint and refused to help clean up the mess that was made in our room.

Location was so great! Everything is near; stores, coffee shops, train station, Dam square... Staff was really friendly, always smiling. Walls were kind of thin, so you could hear everything that happened in the corridor.

Little space in 9 bed room, no smoking/alcohol allowed, 24/7 assistance, really close to train station and red light district, they offer free coffee in the morning. Good if you don't mean to spend non-spleeping time inside.

Convenient situation in general, but the street itself is not nice. The building also is dark and shabby.. As for the service everything was ok.

The location is really excellent. It is located at the center of Amsterdam and very convenient for tourists living there. The facilities there meet most of our needs. But if the heater is stronger, it would make the stay more wonderful.

I was there for new years and the staff was VERY helpful and friendly all the time There is a little place to sit next to the front desk but maybe 5 people could sit there comfortably so there's not really a common area The wifi works really well and the facilities were great There are stairs that you have to walk up so if you have a problem with stairs I would avoid it was totally worth the money and very close to the train station and easy to get to, the beds do squeak if you sleep light
