Beautiful and perfect place to rest. I live in Medellin and recommend that all tourists go Guatape.The hostel staff are very friendly and willing to help. They offered a dinner for us when I was there and I met fantastic people and had great moments. Struck by the beauty of the place. And if I have more time Ill definitely return. Could have a paisa breakfast. You have to walk a bit to get to downtown and don’t seems secure doing it by night (use the chiva cabs).Is possible to swin in the lake!

Jessica is the true superstar employee of this place. She runs the joint, and she is incredibly nice. The other guys just kind of act like you're sitting in their living room, and they wish you weren't. The fishing pole is totally unusable, and the kayak can take you right down to a stream that is dumping something unpleasant into the water. The bikes are also broken down. However, the view is probably the best from a hostel in Guatapé, and the kitchen facilities are good.
