Great hostel with a nice lounge to meet other travellers. They also have some old bikes that you can take out for the day and go to see the Plaza de torros. All in all, exactly what you need for a relaxing stay. I think it\'s lacking a bar but Colonia isn\'t exactly the place to go if you\'re looking for night life.

Bathrooms seemed to be pretty run down but still clean though. Staff was nice, breakfast was included even though this is not stated in Hostelworld. Nice surprise there ;) Towels are lended for free and soap is provided as well. Location is quite but only a 3 min walk from the main street. I had a nice stay!

Very close to the historic part of town, one of the lowest prices, good atmosphere and excelent staff. Not that much control on the people who goes inside at daytime. We slept in a room shared by 6 with no windows, but aircondicionated worked great. Cheap bicicle rent and great breackfast.

The place is run by a bunch of middle aged women with the dirty work seemingly done by their teenage daughters. The atmosphere is unfriendly and cold, very unhelpful and at times, plain rude. Sadly there don't seem to be many other budget options in Colonia. They didn't seem to want to take off the 10% paid to HW and then worked out the 'discount' by dividing by 1.1! Yet another hostel where the staff don't seem to like foreigners or travelers...

Nice quaint hostel with friendly staff and excellent location near the ferry station. However beds are very uncomfortable and bathrooms are few and get dirty by the end of the morning. Also this hostel is quite popular with older crowds so pretty quiet.

I loved this hostel. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the building had so much character. The washrooms and bedrooms were clean too and it was evident that the workers put a lot of care into maintaining it. In the middle of the hostel is a nice courtyard to hangout and meet other travelers. Would definitely come back here the next time I am in Colonia.

Bed bugs, stay away! The staff didn't react at all when I told about it... Plus I have to stay the beds, in addition to the crowling bugs, were very unconfortable and I'm not usually very fussy about that stuff.. but these were aweful. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

the dorm didn't have a window, bathrooms were occupied all the time, kitchen wasn't really clean and there wasn't any comfy atmosphere.

nice location close to downtown - the rest is very basic - the dorms do not have a real door, just curtains. Bathrooms are not very clean - good breakfast.

I was not informed on check in of the need to change rooms during my stay, and was only informed when I initiated discussion. On check-in, all 4 beds in the room had stuff on them. I informed 2 members of staff, who assured me the people had checked out. When I was woken at 3am by a girl telling me to get out of her bed, clearly they had not been informed of their room change either. The staff were rude when I was not happy with the new room, and informed me I could check out if I didn't like it

Best thing about this hotel was the breakfast, served in a basket by a kind server. Delicious pastries, and generous portions of your choice of beverage. The bunks were good, WiFi. Good couches. But the bedrooms were minimally ok for summer, with either no doors (were there any?) or just none then. Impossible iron staircases, extremely modest set up, old facilities. Altogether a bit depressing, but with possibilities for the young, to chill in the patio if desired. Nothing too comfy though.
