Common areas and kitchen were great. Our room was dark and unwelcoming, but others may be better. The pillows were rock-hard and the beds weren't very comfortable. Free glass of wine (very healthy pour!) every night was a nice feature. They also offer free laundry services. The kitchen is very roomy and there are several common areas to relax, use wifi or watch TV. Staff is helpful and lots of excursions offered.

This hostel is absolutely fantastic. I left my wallet there on accident and was sitting in my bus to go back to Buenos Aires. One of the hostel workers took a taxi all the way to the bus terminal, walked onto my bus, and handed me back my wallet. I was astonished and will definitely return to Hostel Empedrado if I am ever in Mendoza again. The facilities are awesome also!

We had a great stay at hostel Empedrado, the staff was very helpfull and friendly. The atmosphere was very relaxed. There was only one thing that was not so nice, and that was the smell in our room. A weird smell came from the bathroom and during our stay (4 nights) our room wasn't cleaned once. But the great atmosphere, the friendliness, the location and the activities overruled it all. The best hostel we've had during our short travel in Argentina!

The hostel has a very nice charm with its open spaces. However, the private room we had is need in a lot of updates. There was a power cable cover that was falling off the wall, the shower leaked all over the bathroom (not to mention the fact you had to step over the toilet to get into the shower), and chipping paint all over the room. The bed was rather old with no box spring and the pillows were flatter than a phone book. The staff were super helpful, they made our days much more enjoyable.

Nice hostel with clean rooms. Great plus is the wash machine, which you can use by your own.. Wine tour can be booked directly in the hostel.

This hostel has great activities nearly every night (many of them are free!) so it creates a great atmosphere to meet people. The hostel also has a small pool and a free washing machine (you just have to buy the washing powder).

Very average hostel this, nothing special at all, although the staff are friendly and helpful, who speak English. Do not stay in any of the rooms next to the courtyard though. If there is a party going on, then basically you can count on zero sleep, as people end up pi$$ed and in the pool. Little bit out of town, though probably only a 15minute walk

The staff could not have been more helpful. They booked everything we needed and went out of their way to solve all our queries (including sending trainers we left behind all the way to Bariloche!) Thank you so much again!

Use of laundry machine was a real bonus! Staff provided excellent service and evening of "asado" dinner was excellent choice for us.

In two and a half months of hostel living in Argentina, Chile and Uruguay, this hostel is probably the BEST we have stayed at! Great group of people - ready to help make your stay at the hostel good, and stay in mendoza good too. A superior breakfast with home made pancakes even! We heartily recommend the Empedrado!

Everything about this place was excellent - staff, facilities, price, atmosphere...it had everything you could possibly need from helpful staff members who will go out of their way to help you plan your stay in Mendoza to fantastic kitchen facilities to make a great meal. Rooms were spacious and clean with lockers, overall one of the best hostels we've stayed in since our travels began 6 months ago.

Best breakfast ever! Great place to spend some time in Mendoza. Free Empanada making class was really cool and so were the people. Only downside was the bunks were a little rickety. Stay here!!

Best Hostel we've ever stayed at! They have free cooking classes, free glass of wine every day! They host a weekly Asado and have great advice and contacts for heaps of activities! PLEASE PLEASE book a wine tour by bicycle with "Martin's Bikes" our tour guide Diego went above and beyond to help us have one of the best days of our whole trip so far. Not to mention the grape vines that cover the terrace...all you can eat organic grapes!! AMAZING!

Really enjoyed this hostel, you get a lot for your money (free use of washing machine, glass of wine every evening, big breakfast, free activities eg wine tasting most nights). About 35-40 min walk to bus station but only 20 pesos in taxi. Around 10 mins from town but only 1 block from supermarket and 2 kitchens to use. Could be a little noisy in the evening as rooms around the courtyard. Lovely staff - let us sleep in the lounge, until our room was ready, when we arrived at 5:30am
