Ilha do Mel is an amazing spot. Definitely worth the trip if you need to get away from all the hussle and bussle of the big Brazilian cities. Pedro the owner is very hospitable and a really nice guy.

Great hostel on a great island. As a backpacker you rather stay in Encantadas than in Brasilia, which is another village on the island. Brasilia is more honeymoon like. The owner Pedro is a great guy, really helpful. Personal breakfast every day and even made hotdogs and pizzas for us. Stayed for 6 nights, fully recommend!!

Our plan was staying at Ihla do Mel for 2 nights and we ended up there for a week. Exploring the island and enjoying the quietness and chilled out atmosphere. Our host Pedro made us feel like being in paradise. Definitely an awesome place to stay on the island!

The environment there is amazing. This hostel is very clear and it is very well located. The owner, Pedro,is a bit systematic, but he is very helpful ,tpp.He resembles almost a father sometimes! But that's ok, sometimes it is fun. So, this hostel is well-worthy: good price for good stay.

This hostel are awesome. Pedro the owner is such a great person and he makes your stay unforgettable. The whole hostel is made by him and it looks like adventure and stories to tell. We stay there 5 nights and we were very comfortable and happy. We will always come back and listen to one of Pedros stories. Very nice!

Its a very nice and cure hostel with a great athmosfere. Pedro is a very nice man, when we didnt have time to have dinner he gave us a lot of food to go. Cool place, the island is lovely!

The hostel accommodations are great and Pedro is a very nice man. The inconvenience we found is that breakfast is charged apart. The Encantada's beach is a bit more empty but it's very beautiful as well. It's kinda far from the touristic point of the island though. If you want a silent and wild place it's definitely your place. Do not forget a mosquito repellent.

It was an excellent stay at "Don Pedro's" Hostel. Pedro is a real gentleman who has travelled a lot himself in- and outside Brazil. He is a very interesting person to talk to about social, political and environmental theme's. He runs a beautifull little Hostel on the Island between 2 beaches. I had one day of really good weather and than more rain. Because of the time of the year. There were verry few visitors on the Island which made it even more quiet and peacefull.

Overall it's a good hostel, but the kitchen is very small and if you pay 30, then breakfast is not included.

Pedro is an amazing host. He bridged the language gap by pouring us glasses of red wine, augmenting our meals with fresh fruit and toasted sandwiches and chattering away in Portugese regardless.

This hostel did not make it clear there are two boats ports so this was an inconvenience when we arrived as we had to get two ferrys. There are no ATM´s on the island and the local supermarket charges a 15% surcharge when withdrawing money. The hostel was generally unclean and the facilities in the kitchen were limited/filthy. Only one of the staff spoke limited English which made it difficult when checking in and trying to obtain information. Would not recommend.

Pedro is the nicest man I have ever met and he washed all my clothes really clean in a couple of hours. Definitely worth paying a tiny bit extra for the breakfast, was a feast!
