The receptionist does not speak english. Also the hotel is pretty far from the city centre and the district does not seem really safe. So you have to take a tram to go to the center and back. On the other hand it s the cheapest hostel i have ever stayed in.
The hostel is not a walking distance from old town. But if you are with a car, there is no problem. Or you can use public transport. The other thing, there is no living(siting) room. Basically you have nowhere to sit and relax, no space to sit and have a breakfast or dinner - you have just your bed (8 bed room is very small). And its a problem to find a stuff in the morning and after 6 p.m. You need to call cell phone to contact them. It's expensive when you have no Latvian card. It was clean.
