Good location and good breakfast. Dorm was not great and the sheet provided was like something out of a Florence Nightingale war-time hospital scene. The lockers were either broken or held by loose screws. The deposit paid on Hostelworld was initially not taken into account (a common theme) but the staff were friendly and helpful.

Staff very friendly especially the New girl from sao Paulo. Te free happy jour is an excellent idea and thé caiperinhas excellents! Good breakfast. The only thing was the pool. We took this poussada especially for that reason and it was very small almost like a jaccuzi and very dirty, we coulded swim because of the strike. IF we Knew we woulded pick that poussada because its more expansive then the other ones and we tought it would be worth it with the pool. We would of liked a discount but n

During my trip in Brazil, this was definitely the best hostel I stayed in. When I arrived they gave me lot's of good information + a brochure with the excursions you can do. They all spoke good English and they where really friendly. Even the cleaning-staff were sooooooo lovely. I felt really welcome. Also the location was great. It's located in the middle of the old centre in a nice and quite safe neighboorhoud. The stafff is doing their best to create a nice atmosphere. Clean rooms ...

Pretty good place but with some drawbacks. The main drawback for me is that there is no kitchen. It's also very central which means it's noisy at night so difficult to sleep early. Breakfast is great though and the staff are good. Depends on your priorities.

Great place to stay. The staff was very nice and helpful. Very convenient location - just be careful when going out at night (as in any other place). The rooms are small but common areas and the pool make a huge difference when compared to other hostels. I highly recommend it.

My 2-night stay at Hostel Galeria 13 was so good that I decided to come back for 3 nights after I had visited Morro do Sao Paulo. When I got back there, I was really feeling I was home again ! The staff is very nice, always available to give advice, suggesting events everyday for those who are interested in it. What's more, you can meet there so many cool people from all around the world and enjoy free caipirinhas at 5 PM ! Nicolas

A very nice hostel with good atmosphere in the heart of the historic center of Salvador. The rooms+bathrooms are a bit small, but not really important since the hostel includes a nice common area (indoor chill room and outdoor). Would definitely recommend it to anyone!

Great place. I recommend to everybody. Next time I stay in Salvador I will stay there again. Clean place, perfectly located in Pelourinho and the breakfast is amazing. Another good thing there is they have air conditioning and safebox.

Galeria 13 was one of the nicest hostels I've been to. The staff is very helpful and the atmosphere is very friendly. The happy hour of free caiparinhas is also great! In terms of cleanliness, in a dorm full of 10 people, its better to have the toilet scrubbed daily but other than that the whole place was generally pretty clean.

Owner Comment (Show)
As you say a 10 bed dorm the toilet gets a lot of use.Now regards the security breach, money did go missing from a persons bag,as they forget to put it in the lockers. One guest did behave strangely and shot off when questioned. This guest actually made the booking through this site so he is a tourist the fact he was originally from Salvador does not change that fact.We do not have 100% proof he was responsible so we would like to just make that clear. But it is true Zulu(one of the dogs) did react strangley and has some special radar when it comes to checking people out. Hostels are meant to feel like home and i think we manage that but you always have to be aware you are sharing a room with many other guests so do take some basic cautions. We liked our clean record so help us keep it low on events and use common sense. Thanks
