The hostel was perfect, great location in the heart of the historical center. Great breakfast until 12 with eggs included. The only thing that I would improve would be the space in the rooms to leave the baggage. There was little storage space in the 10 bed dorm, which made it a little uncomfortable, nothing that a good shelf can't improve. Definitely recommendable.

The hostel is located in the best part of Salvador 'the pelourinho'. They offer a great breakfast and the staff are always there to help. Great common room where you can lounge and meet other travelers, the free caprinha happy hour is a nice touch. The only downside is that the rooms are dated; the bunk beds are old and falling apart, the mattresses are also quite old, the lockers are tiny and the washrooms could use some updating.

It's a great hostel. The location in the Pelourinho is where you want to be but you do need to be wary at night. The breakfast is excellent and the hour of free caipirinhas was a bonus. On the negative side, I was in a bottom bunk and didn't feel particularly safe with the wooden supports from the bunk above coming out a few times. Whilst I was there for the World Cup and understand why hostels would put prices up, $115 per night was excessive.

I had a great time staying here. The staff was great and super helpful, breakfast was awesome, and the happy hour caipirinhas are SO good. Location is greta (right in the middle of Pelourinho) and Zulu and Spartan (the dogs) are adorable. I also enjoyed the "chill out" , and a bunch of people seemed to hang there making it easy to meet others. Only complaint would be about the beds. Getting on the top bunk is a challenge (no ladder), and they dont feel super sturdy. Still, i'd recommend!

Great location in the pelo area. Really funky little hostel w/ nice atmosphere. Great breaky and really helpful staff w/ plenty of info on what to do during your stay. Was not cheap due to the world cup but no complaints as our dbl private room was incredible for hostel standards. We had a huge room w/ a hammock and sitting area in it and the ensuite was adequate. Well kept rooms, no common kitchen and not a large common area but we preferred to explore so that did not bother us. Loved our stay.

Great location, felt super safe (thanks Zulu and Spartan), enjoyed every breakfast. Really appreciated how friendly, professional and helpful everyone on the Galeria / Cafe Zulu team were. Highly recommended.

Hostel Galeria 13 was an amazing place to stay during the world cup. The staff was extremely helpful, the facilities had lockers, and the caipirinha happy hour was a ton of fun. My one suggestion would be to people to a cheaper laundromat ($40 USD a load?!?!), if asked or allow patients to use the machines for a smaller fee.

Good things (far outweighed the negatives): Excellent, friendly staff. Excellent healthy breakfast in the morning, and good lounging room for watching the World Cup. Happy Hour with unlimited Caparinas was definitely a highlight. Areas for improvement: Most of the latches on lockers were too small to fit a regular combination lock. The reason I gave a poor review for value was because, like everywhere, they gouged during World Cup ($100US for one night in a six bed room!).

It might seems pricy compared to other hostels but It worth it! The breakfast is more than great, the owner and personnels are super nice, the place is well located and the caipirinha happy hour make the difference to make new friends as soon as you arrive and to go out into pelourinho ! One of the best hostels i have been to ! Will definitely come back to this place ! Thank you !

Highly recommended place to stay at, staff were very friendly & helpful . Morning breakfast is a must and later in the day make sure your back for the free drinks! Rooms were clean and had air conditioning which is great. Generally the hostel had a great vibe to it and you will meet other like minded travellers.

Only a couple of the staff speak English, the owner is really nice and will go out of his way to help you. Clean rooms, but the toilet situation (1 toilet per dorm room) can be a little annoying. Excellent breakfast (best I've had so far in Brazil) and goes from 8am until midday!

Friendly staff with a great host. Atmosphere was brilliant and needed only the capirinha happy hour to up the volume. Had a great time.over the 5 nights. Located in pelourinho, which is a great place to party or to visit the historic squares. The breakfast was fantastic with eggs, fruits, sausages, etc. Thank you!!

Fantastic Hostel! Paulo is a fantastic host. Always up for having a chat with you and will give you great tips on the local area. The hostel organised walking tour is a great way to get to know the area. The whole hostel is clean as the cleaners are basically around 24/7. Breakfast is great sausage and eggs every morning. Also lasts til 12 for late risers like myself. Free caipirinhas for an hour also makes for a great atmosphere in the hostel and is a great time to meet people!

Atmosphere, breakfast and caipirinha's were great! My mattress wasn't the best, but the rest made up for that!

It's not often I give a hostel 100% but this one definitely deserves it... Oh my god the breakfast!

Located in pelo area which is a little sketchy at night, people follow you to the hostel or ask if you need help to get there and then try to charge you for "helping" You. Didn't feel very safe in the area at all. Not the hostels fault. The breakfast was awesome, eggs, fruit, toasties, fresh juice, coffee. Staff amazing and helpful. Bathrooms in each room which can be a little annoying in a 10 bedded dorm. Rooms are good size with lockers and clean, free caipirinhas are an added bonus.

We spent 3 nights in Salvador and Hostel Galeria 13 is the best place to be ! The staff is very nice and always here to help, the price is very affordable, the rooms and bathrooms are clean, the location is perfect, the two dogs are very cute, the pool is appreciated and the free Caiprinha even more!!! I definitely recommend this place.
