Great hostel- rooms are spacious and very clean. The breakfast is amazing- so much food to fill up on before the day (fruit, cereal, sandwiches, coffee, cakes- literally so much high quality food). About a 15 minute walk from city center.

Great hostel clean and safe big and spacious Good food Great staff very veryaccomodatiing

The staff is just great. Super friendly. Breakfast is a very good plus. I'd totally go back to Gallo d'Oro!

After reading reviews I had high expectations - and got disappointed. Location is fine, ten minute walk to duomo. Tripadvisor's certificate of excellence is deserved for one thing and one thing only - breakfast. Simply amazing! But apart from that this hostel is shabby. Everything is old and used, toilet seat broken and "repaired" with tape, plugs broken and electricion that should fix them never came, dust raining on my face when girl in upper bed moved, unbearably loud garbage truck at 6 am.

It is very reachable by bus from train station. Staff there were so kind and helpful! It is quite clean with great roommates. Breakfast there was amazing BTW.

Only stayed here one night but we were pretty impressed. The air com in the all girls dorm didn't get very cold, so it got a bit too hot for my liking over night. The breakfast is really good for a free breakfast! The bathrooms were clean and the staff were really friendly.

It was a very nice stay at Hostel Gallo d'Oro. The staff was always helpfull and the breakfast wass great!! A good place to meet people and get new friends.

The staff goes above and beyond. Anything you need, they make it happen! Perfect English and wonderfully attentive! It's a shorter walk from the duomo, a little bit long with bags from the main station. Breakfast is AMAZING! Full spread and ready to eat starting early. Location aside, this is a must stay in Florence!

Location was perfect. Next to central market and the main station. Also a bus stop right in front of the hostel. Really big breakfast every morning, almost like a buffet. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Room was nice except bunk beds can be uncomfortable and no a.c. only a fan that helped cool down the heat a bit in the summer. Overall, money is worth it with the amount of service they provide.

The staff were super friendly and the room was pretty nice! Really enjoyed delicious breakfast. The atmosphere is very cozy. The only thing are the noises by the dumpster cars in the morning-- I was waken up pretty early morning and couldn't go back to sleep.

Seriously one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at! The free breakfast was amazing and there were always snacks out. The staff went above and beyond to help & were super friendly. The rooms were cleaned daily & beds were really comfy. Great friendly atmosphere- would definitely stay again!

Fan in the room was broken and the room was about 27 degrees celsius at night. We asked for a different one but it wasn't supplied. For what we paid, the room was very basic. Security was good but the location was poor. Atmosphere was awful, felt like we were in a morgue.

no a/c and unfortunately bud was not comfy. Staff are very friendly though.

-location is quite inconvenient (about 15min walk from city center) -6 bed dorm was ok but beds were in poor condition -breakfast spread was ok -always had pastries in the kitchen -WiFi connection was unstable at times

It is a very nice hostel. Stuffs are very nice and the breakfast is really impressive! but the location is not. you really should take bus from the train station to the hostel. otherwise walking with heavy luggage can be really aweful.

Very clean and homey. Good price considering it's on the island. It's a bit far from San Marco but I personally liked being away from the touristy areas to sleep. Kind of a sanctuary. Plus it's on the island near other nice, less crowded squares. Nice beds and bathrooms

Walking distance to the central parts(like 10-15 minutes). The breakfast is amazing, they bake their own bread the day before and the staff is very helpful, would really recommend this hostel.

I really enjoyed my stay at this hostel. Friendly staff, delicious breakfast! It was a little walk to the city centre, but safe location. Rooms generally remained unlocked, but locker supplied.

Would be nice if the bathrooms are upgraded and the bed matrasses are changed.

We enjoyed our stay at this hostel, with a location convenient to the train station. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast at the hostel was the best we had on our entire trip through Italy! There was a wide selection of juice, coffee, baked goods, yogurt, eggs, etc. The only downside of this hostel was that our room was very hot at night, even with a fan and an open window.
