The wireless connection was down when I arrived. I requested the box be rebooted and after the second reboot the wireless works and everyone had internet access again. But the box went down again the following night. Speaking to other guests that had been at the hostel for three weeks they said the wireless was very bad and hardly ever worked properly. Internet access at any hostel is very important and I feel its very poor that the wireless issue is not resolved permanently.

Had a good one-night stay in this hostel. Staff was very helpful to accommodate for me as a wheelchair user. My room and the sanitary was accessible with a wheelchair. In the morning there was a problem with the breakfast (only a few cereals and coffee from a machine) but I soon understood this was due to the fact that the other food was locked away and the only guy in charge of the breakfast did not have the key. So this was not a standard thing.

The staff were incredibly friendly and lively, making the stay there welcoming and fun. The bed was clean and comfortable and the privacy curtain for each bed made a much needed afternoon nap restful and easy. The bar has a dangerously good selection of beers, imported and domestic, and the atmosphere in the bar was friendly and relaxed. Bathroom and showers were clean and perfectly adequate, though I'd love an internal curtain to separate changing area from shower to reduce splatter of water.

Very nice place, nice renovation work. Stayed in a single room on my own, a few drawbacks that can easily be upgraded: TV didn't work at the beginning of my stay, no hangers/cupboard, bathtub located too close to the roof (makes it difficult to stand up for a tall person), no curtains for the shower. A locker could be needed for customers staying on business

Lovely hostel with a bar in the front. Fully equipped with a delightful kitchen, curtains around the beds, and lockers for valuables. Very close to downtown Lille, and the staff were super friendly!

Very clean and functional. Beds are comfortable. Good decoration in the main room. It lacks a bit of character for a hostel, but the place is half way between a hostel and hotel really so it's understandable. I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in Lille since it's got everything and the price is reasonable.

Modern and friendly, located in a quiet street with interesting local shops and bars about 10 mins walk from centre. My only criticism wss that its reception staff were based in the public bar which got really busy later at night so it was difficult to discuss any problems or enquiries because it was noisey.

Very modern very clean place a little bit of a walk from the train station but worth it. Could not find dish towels in the kitchen to dry our dishes after washing. Great stay though!

I absolutely love this place - if you're going to stay in Lille, book at Gastama. Its not too far from a bus station and the staff are AMAZING. They are very friendly and will give you a hand if you need help with anything. The mattress beds are thicker than most hostels, there is a curtain for each bed, and lockers beneath the bed for you to keep your stuff safe (bring a lock!). This hostel is also a bar with delicious drinks and is filled on friday/saturday nights with a great atmosphere.

The entire staff was amazing, the girls as much as the guys, all so helpful, friendly and clearly just cool people. The place was great location, rooms were immaculate, the cleaners were doing a great job. Seriously, just a great hostel!!!! Excellente Auberge, avec un personnel super simpathique (!!!) et un lieu de qualite, la location est parfaite. (Signé les stewardess Emirates! ;p)

Really nice place, with a really friendly bar downstairs which was full of locals on Friday and Saturday night. Was really encouraging to see security checked everybody passing into the hostel part of the building was staying there. Only downsides are having to pay additionally for towels, and the showers needing to be re-started with the button quite often. Otherwise the hostel was great, with very comfortable beds and a good atmosphere.

The hostel looks brand-new, modern and clean. The room looked a bit like an army camp - huge and empty apart from the bunk-beds and sink - but each bed has a curtain and reading light which is a fantastic touch, allowing privacy in a busy room. Free internet access 24/7. Staff very friendly. Bar area is atmospheric and very popular. I'm not sure why there are negative reviews about the showers - the water runs for a full 20 secs, if you don't want it to cut off then just press it again...

Everything was really clean. Staff members were always kind and helpful. There was an event at the bar in the lobey and we didn't hear anything in the room, so it is very well isolated. Good value for the price.
