I can't recommend the Hostel Glide too highly. It is run by a lovely Armenian family and has a real family atmosphere. I stayed in the off season so it was fairly quiet and peaceful (which I liked!). Breakfasts were great. They were helpful with advice about travel in Armenia. I gave an "excellent" rating for everything except location, as the hotel is about a 40 min walk from the historic centre. However, it's 2 mins from the metro, which will get you right into the centre in under 10 mins.
