I had a lovely experience at the Hostel Haruya in Kyoto, staffs are so helpful and provided good recommendation for my trip. I also love the fact that this is a traditional Japanese old house located in a convenience location which make it easy to visit different places. Definitely will come back again and stay longer.

This is a great, unique hostel, centrally located and has a lot of charme. I can highly recommend staying at Hostel Haruka. The owner is incredibly helpful and takes his time to show you around. I loved sleeping on the tatami matts on the futon it was a memorable experience. Would definately come back again!

Good location, easy to move for Eeast side of Kyoto. Hostel is Japanese traditional house which you will love. For me, I am Japanese and I also love this kinds of houses, wooden, Tatami rooms, very old but clean. it is chilling for me. I stayed in 4bed females dorm, room is too small, but the price is cheep, so it's OK.

I highly recommend this hostel. It's a gorgeous traditional house with a very gracious host. Most importantly, it's in a great location near many tourist attractions, including the Gion District and a fantastic park. I was able to walk to many places on my itinerary. The house is kept very clean, which I greaty appreciate.

A lovely guesthouse! Although it is listed as a hostel, it is too stylish to really be seen as one. Beautifully decorated, clean, crisp bedding, about 20m away from a subway station, a very friendly and helpful owner - I have only good things to say about Hostel Haruya.

We loved our stay at Haruya. Yukisan was a wonderful host and it felt more like a home stay than a hostel. The rooms are very traditional with paper sliding walls, bamboo floors, and futon beds. It is very romantic. However, we shared a floor with 3 other rooms and were able to see their lights and hear their conversations all night. The bathroom facilities are outside and it was a little challenging to get ready in the morning, but they were beautiful and well maintained, not rustic.
