The owner is awesome, he gave good recommendations on things to do as well as helped us locate some places in town. It is very close to an MRT station which makes transportation easy. For cleanliness, there were some ants found in a cupboard but overall the place was quite clean. Great experience and the balcony on the top was nice to kill time on.

Hamasan- is a very relaxed place with a friendly owner who was very helpful. The location is great so is the building itself. I especially enjoyed to take a ferry ride over to qijin Island and take a swim in the ocean! It is also a good starting place for hikes in the mountains and a visit of the Sun-Yatsen University.

Great staff, yet the dorm is not so roomy as I expected.

This hostel was pretty good. The guy behind the counter was nice and helpful. I would recommend that if you plan on going to bed early or sleeping through the night, you should look for somewhere else to stay; the walls here are very thin, so if someone upstairs or next door is noisy, you can hear it very clearly and it's difficult to sleep. Other than that, it was a good experience. Great location near Siziwan harbor and ferry terminal.

I loved that this hostel is located right in the harbor area. It made it real easy to get out and get around all over the city and the accompanying island. An interesting layout in the hostel, but still a very excellent hostel

The building is a bit old but very clean and cozy, there were no closets in our room but a big shelf outside was more than enough to put our stuff on, while valuables could be locked in one of the many closets with a padlock (not provided). The staff is incredibly polite and available at literally all times. Great position, very close to the KMRT (metro), the Gushan nature area and the Cijin island recreation area and night market. Perfect for experiencing Kaohsiung and making tons of friends.

i stayed just one night because i was in a rush trip but i i really recommend this hostel, the owner is always ready to help you in everything you need and the hostel is clean and in a quiet area but not so far from a night market where you can get nice fish ball soup!

Best hostel in Kaohsiung for a Westerner or English speaker. Its got interesting people that you can talk to, the owner is very helpful, speaks fluent English, and wants to make sure you have a great time. There's lots of things to do near by, I recommend taking the ferry to get seafood on the little island, checking out the giant temple on top of the hill, and definitely seeing the monkeys on Monkey Mountain. The hostel is also very close to the MRT, so you can see the other parts of Kaohsiung.

Mr. Wang, the boss was the only staff in the hostel, yet he has been keeping the hostel well and neat. He is friendly and helpful. I’m impressed by his passion in Taiwanese culture. I\'m taking this opportunity to thank him for helping me out to fix my sudden changed flight by the airline. I’d like to recommend this young gentlemen and his hostel to you.
