Great set-up for travellers with a nice sitting area and clean shared bathrooms. They have thought of it all and the staff were always ready to help. The only improvements I can suggest are to make the balcony door lockable, and to provide curtains for privacy. I have no doubt that this hostel will actually take these suggestions, as they are keen to be the best hostel.

Loved this hostel. Clean, great facilities. They were more than helpful when trying to book busses out and a trip to Puerto Vallarta. This was for sure the best hostel experience I've had so far. Would recommend it without a doubt! Great location also.

Would not recommend this hostel to anyone. I stayed for 2 nights during the Semana Santa period and the staff (aside from one lovely guy) were rude and just generally unfriendly and they came across as extremely reluctant to help. Bathrooms were unclean with only 2 showers and 2 toilets (only one worked) between about 10 girls. Dorms were alright, also slightly dirty but generally OK. There are so many other better hostels in Guadalajara I would stay before even considering coming here again.

Very nice hostel in a great location, clean and everything... don't expect a party scene but the people I met were up to chat. The billiards table is good to have!

There are two hostels, one in the middle of downtown historic district, and the other near where the museums are and the Univ. of Guadalajara. We stayed at the former and were within 5 minute walk of the goverment square and lots of sites, foods. Wonderful, clean, upbeat, convenient location. Visited the other location and it was also a great layout, more relaxed and comfy vibe with patio and hammocks, bbq backyard. The staff at both are young, incredibly friendly and are awesome to talk with.

I highly recommend this hostel for its central location (and easy accessibility to important sights), its comfortable atmosphere, and its connections with various tours. The Tequila Tour is very much worth your time. Although they advertise a breakfast, it is very small and I recommend waking up early to make sure you get something.

Nice staff, very friendly and helpful Perfect location, just a couple blocks away from the cathedral and the Plaza Tapatia Only downside, you can pretty much hear everything that is going on in the premises, the walls are not soundproof - So it is a bit hard to sleep late into the morning (but hey, that is not what you are here for anyway, right?)

Clean and superb location, a perfect value for money, I stayed in a female dorm, paying only 13 dollar and I've got a lot of free services! I've got my bed with free bed linen and towel (in a beautiful dorm with huge lockers and a nice balcony), a buffet continental breakfast, free bike service to take a ride for the city, unlimited internet browsing, useful tourist information and the chance to meet another travelers from different countries, reserve in advance specially for private rooms...

Internet still only works about 90% of the time. Breakfast is quite inadequate. Everything else is pretty good.

Excellent staff and location. The street outside is crazy noisy, but I didn't mind. Room was wonderful, with private balcony, coffee table and chairs, nightlights. The wifi worked about 80-90% of the time, I believe it was someone else hogging all the bandwidth, the staff said he would look into it. In the shared men's bathroom, 1 of 2 showers and 1 of 3 toilets are broken... it's inconvenient and I hope they're fixed soon. It'd also be much better to accept credit card.

I really enjoyed my stay in this hostel. The location was great, two minutes from the main visitor attractions. It was clean and had a good atmosphere. I would recommend it to friends.

It is nice to have the consistency of Hosteling International wherever you go. This hostel is located in a nice building in the center of Guadalajara. It is near to the plazas, the main cathedral and the gigantic market. If you are expecting it to be near to the night-life you would be better off staying at Hostel Tequila.
