Very noisy. Lots of drunk people shouting and laughing eveywherre. Common showers looking like those of a low cost camping.
When in Mendoza, it has to be Independencia. We stayed at Independencia for 4 nights. It was amazing hanging out the courtyard where you eat, drink and make new friends. All of the staff are very friendly and knowledgeable. The breakfast is good and what can you say about free wine except, stupendo! Independencia is so great, you'll want to extend your stay in Mendoza. Also, nearby Florintino's restaurant is really good.
We have been traveling for 5 months and it was the best hostel we have stayed at. A special thanks to the staff to especially Facundo Cadile for making everybody feel welcome and going the extra mile to assist.

the beds are not so comfortabel, in the dorm and in the privaterooms. Atmosphere is very good. Staff very friendly. Er was a BBQ and sometimes they baked pancakes by the breakfast. Location is very good, that was for us the reason for booking this hostel. In 3 minutes you are in the centre.
The breakfast was really good. It wasn't really clean because of the facilities itself. The showers makes a mess but the ladies do clean the whole time
Staff was not very helpful and the showers were a disaster
Great location right in the city centre. Loved the made to order crepes for breakfast, yum! Our room was a bit noisy right on the street but nothing much to complain about. Great, big kitchen and the free wine is a bonus.
Me and my boyfriend had an enjoyable stay at Hostel Indepencia, the rooms are spacious, the hostel is very clean and the kitchen is fully equipped. There is a lovely relaxing terrace area and a decent breakfast. I would stay again with friends or a partner, but would not stay there if travelling alone as the hostel lacks atmosphere.
had a great stay!! both the staff and guests were great!! perfect location 7 second walk to the centre of town!! staff organised everything we wanted!! fab breakfast and happy hour :P great stay

A large hostel but reasonably quiet, private rooms are a little away from the dorms which helps. Nice breakfast and well equiped kitchen.
Absolutely loved this hostel. The pancakes for breakfast rock, and also the free wine hour every night is a great way to meet other travelers (I traveled alone and made friends my first night!) It was clean, staff went above and beyond with making sure tours/transportation were arranged, and made calls to tours to make sure it was all set. LOVED this hostel. I stayed in another Mendoza hostel after a weekend here; Hostel Independencia is uniquely great. Stay here!
For me it starts and ends with crepes for breakfast (and pastries! And a variety of fruit! And eggs!) and free wine at 7pm, awesome little extras that made an otherwise good value hostel excellent. Friendly staff, not so great shower facilities, good location.
This is a nice property...clean and the staff are friendly. It is in a good location. Suggestions...the noise and smoke from the patio drifts right into all of the rooms upstairs. Maybe a time to shut down the noise could be put into place, at least for the weekdays. The couches are basically wooden slabs with pseudo-cushions...that could be better. Otherwise, a great place.
Bring your own locks, as there are lockers in each of the rooms. The location was amazing, right off the independencia square, easy to get anywhere by foot mostly. Great breakfast provided.
Amazing to have crepes made to order every morning by the super friendly Claudia. The free wine at 7pm also created a good atmosphere for talking to others in the hostel. Booked for two nights and stayed for four.
Pancakes for breakfast and free wine from 7 to 8pm a great touch. Staff very very helpful, nice space in kitchen for cooking. Drawbacks included the overpowering smell of gas from the heaters downstairs, also the fact that there were no showers on the first floor near our room, had to go downstairs. All in all a very decent hostel
This hostel is really great value for money! Free wine tasting between 7-8 p.m. is really nice to get into contact with fellow travellers. Staff is really helpfull, we were stuck in Mendoza for a few days longer as the Chilean-Argentinian border was closed and they put some effort in it to call the border to ask when it was gonna be open again. Also consider booking one of their wine tours, the one we got was really worth the money.
I stayed with my girlfriend in this hostel for 5 nights and it was amazing!!! The staff is incredible! On the reception, Hever (don't remember how to spell his name :( ) was of greaaat help to us! The free wine stuff, the great atmosphere and the breakfast with pancakes (and a lovely pancake lady making them) makes everything very worthy. I don't know many hostels in Mendoza, but this is definitely one of the best! =D
By far, the best hostel I've ever stayed at. Helpful staff (especially Virginia), great facilities, and FREE WINE, which actually wasn't that bad.. I highly recommend Hostel Independencia to anyone and everyone.
This hostel does pretty much everything right but was let down by having no hot water in the showers for 3 days. After informing staff i was constantly referred to the showers reserved for the private rooms (says so on the door) which there is only 1 of. I was even told that there is problems getting it from the pipes in the street (even though it works for the private room). The breakfast was great and the common rooms even better, kitchen and the free wine from 7-8pm every night was fantastic.
