I really liked my stay at this hostel, mainly for 3 reasons. 1-Gerardo and Cristian, the owners, are extremely nice and helpful, they help you move through the city, they recomend good places and are just great people. 2- the location is very good , up hill in the nice part of valparaiso, you just take bellavista elevator and walk 2 blocks and you are there. 3-it is very very very clean, the sheets smelled nice, the bathroom was spotless.

The hostel would have been ok, but the main owner/ permanent resident was a horrible person. He would wake you up in the morning and make you move all of your things while he cleaned, even when we were clearly sick, he came in and woke us up. He didn't let people finish their meal before making them clean their dishes, and unlike most hostels, he kicked us out at 11 and wouldn't even let us sit around while waiting for out bus! He also would tell you off for being noisy early afternoon!

The perfect location, lots of great nearby restaurants and shops. The owners are really nice and helpful with information about the city. More of a home than a hostal as it's fairly small and intimate (nice and quiet also). Great place to relax.

I stayed In Jacaranda 3 nights and all was perfect : the owners are so welcoming and helpful, the location is just perfect, the house is beautiful, the wifi is excellent, the rooms and bathrooms are very clean, and you can cook your own BBQ on the terrace ! Ôh and I forgot, the rate value / money is unbeatable... go for it !

Fantastic guys that own the property. Very helpful and friendly. Fabulous location, the double room was a little small but clean and tidy. Would definitely stay there again!!!

The two owners of this teeny tiny hostel are loveable, but our "double" room was so small we could barely fit in there with our two backpacks. It seems a bit more like a hospedaje than a hostel since you are always left with the feeling that you are in someone's house and therefore feel always a bit self conscious. The outside sitting area is wonderful, and beautifully designed and cared for by the owners.
