Prices are mistaken. We booked a twin ensuite room but upon our arrival could only stay in a dorm. Staff explained some "synchronization problems". Hostel is good for big loud companies, interior is very creative :)
This hostel has a great potential. It's well located between the historical centre and the train station, in a beautiful big house and with good interior design. The idea of replacing bunk beds by single beds is wonderful. The good things: big common space, fridge space, coffee and tea 24/7, clean rooms, great beds, own lamp. The bad things: dirty toilets with blocked sinks, just two showers, some arrogant staff, two keys for an 8-beds room, minimal control of who is going in/out, small kitchen.
Well.. the hostel itself is nice, located in stunning old building, close to the city center. Girls at the reception were nice, there was really interesting music performance during the evening in the backyard. Jamaika doesn´t have the typicall hostel crowd - there were parents with kids, bit older people and so on. Main problem was that there were only two bathrooms - toilet and shower together-at our floor. That means that usually you had to wait for a long time, also it wasn´t very clean.
for me everything was good, the staff is very helpfull and friendly and also everything seems to be close by, i never had to take any bus or public transport to anywhere, if you are coming from the bus station its really easy to spot, there is also a supermarkets close by and the bar downstairs its very awesome! but it gets pretty loud, still i will definitly go there again :)

Proper hostel. Lots of fun and good for meeting other travellers. The staff are cool too!
The location is perfect. The beds are great. The showers are warm. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bar downstairs is cool. But also in the evening you could walk from the bar straight into the hostel, so it wasn't that secure. You could just walk into the bedrooms. I also came at a quiet time of year, with more people in the hostel it would have been more fun. But it was absolutely fine. It will be a really really nice place when there are enough people, with the bar just downstairs :)
The hostel is pretty much ok. The bedroom and kitchen facilities are really good though staff does not give you all the tips and hints you usually expect from hostels. You have to be asking every little thing. Locations is excellent and the hostel is well cleaned.
The hostel is close to the train station on the outskirts of the old town and has spacious rooms. There's a combination lounge and kitchen that's the social point. The bar next door is vey lively in the evenings although it's mostly groups of locals and not travelers. The hostel also has a fridge of beer for sale, but oddly will not let you buy any. The biggest problem is that there are only two combination toilet/showers on each floor, making them quite busy.
This is a very good hostel, situated in a perfect position, closed to the bus station. There is a big kitchen with good atmosphere. Here everybody can enjoy with others people. There is a big balcony where to relax a bit. Just one little problem: internet is a bit slow!
Clean and well located hostel. Staff is friendly and a kitchen including breakfast is being offered. Unfortunately, there is no wifi on the 2nd floor. But you can rent a bike and drive around.
