The dorm was humid and moldy and the air condition didn't work well. So we had to escape to the hammocks on the terrasse during the night. The hygiene was bad. A cat and some dogs live there and also visit the kitchen. The positive point is that the guys of the reception are very friendly and helpful. Sleeping in their hammocks is quite comfortable.

Thanks for your review… unfortunately, we live in the jungle, so humidity is a fact of life for us. We will inspect for mold and make sure to get rid of any found. The Hostel is literally cleaned 24/7, but yes, we ARE a pet-friendly hostel w/ a cat that should only ever be in the common areas and a dog that never comes inside… I’m glad you enjoyed the hammocks though! - David - Hostel Ka’beh

Couldn't fault this hostel besides making me spend to long just hanging in the hammocks instead of touring around cancun, Great atmosphere, & no checkout times,

Great staff and a very nice atmosphere. Though the air conditioning in the dorm didn´t work very well make it stuffy and hot.

Hostel Ka'beh was very social! There were fun events going on every night and the staff interact with you. A short bus ride gets you to the hotel zone (where the nightlife is) and you're a 10 minute walk from the ADO bus station. The rooms get a little stuffy when the AC isn't on, so you initially get hit by a smell, but you get used to it within minutes. They will find a way to accommodate you even if they are fully booked! Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better first hostel experience!

Great atmosphere. Not close to the fancy hotels area but it's close to a street market with a lot of cheap food options. Bus system works pretty well at Cancun. Events held everyday. Great to meet new people.

It was absolutely great staying here, the only negative thing about my stay was seeing the biggest cockroach I've ever seen in my life running across the common area hahaha

great place. block from parque de palapas- cheap, real mexican food. also 10 min walk from ADO station. staff were really great, all really helpful. kitchen well stocked. bathrooms are clean and showers are REAL showers. has lockers. vibe there is really good. i was there 2 nights and the first night a lot of people partied, but the next night was more chill- a movie night, so there's a good mix of party and mellow. my only complaint is that they turn AC on night and it is FREEZING

Comfy beds and good common room areas to socialise. Breakfast also perfect way to start the day and the kitchen was really well equipped for self caterers. Staff were very informative, however were sometimes a little bit pushy with drinking/party activities which aren't necessarily the interest of all backpackers. This made it a little bit hard to find space to be quiet and relax in the evening, especially on nights such as the 'open bar night' where the hostel was very noisy until early morning

The Number 2 Hostel I have ever stayed at for one reason. The People the staff and the fellow travelers. Upon arriving I was greeted by the young lady at the desk who immediately made me feel welcome. She gave me a tour of facilities and told me about events that night going on I was hooked. Place is fairly small so gives it a real home away from home feel. Worth the Money. Was sorry to leave. One thing to improve would be to add fans to big room would help on hot days.

I can only say one thing, I wish all hostels would be like this one. It's lovely, fairly clean, very good organised and it seems like the place just draws social travellers for some reason. That beeing said there were no weirdos like usually in hostels in this place and I stayed in many hostels in my life. Basically just book it, you won't regret.

The hostel is nice but very insecure, non of the doors have lockes so everybody has access to the room you are staying in. Also your food or drinks dissapiar from the citchen very easily... They have cool activities every night and the staff is really nice and friendly. The hostel is very clean but the shower in the big room almost never has hot water so better use the one on reception. It's a great place to stay if you wanna get waisted and party every night. Tours there from 50$ US

Thx for the review! We’re a tiny Hostel w/only 3dorms + 24/7 reception. It’s practically all common area + everyone knows everyone else. No 1 gets into the Hostel if they’re not staying. On top of that, we have security cameras + large lockers for backpacks + valuables. Lastly, while we make NO mention of Hot Water on our site, if it’s not working, we can fix it immediately. Let us know next time! PS: we love to party, but we’re pretty good at keeping our drink ;) - Hostel Ka’beh

The perfect hostel with the best people and hammocks

Hostel Ka'beh is a sweet hostel. So much so that I returned for a second visit this year. The staff are all lovely and go above and beyond to make sure you have a pleasant stay. There are nightly goings on so there is always the opportunity to go out and party but you can also just lay in a hammock all night if that is more your vibe. Bottom line - if you have any reservations about staying here, simply don't.

As a solo traveler, I was looking for a hostel option where I could meet fellow travelers and in a comfortable environment. The staff are extremely friendly and welcoming, and there are activities daily at night to create a family/community feel. This hostel is perfect for those solo or group travelers who want a convenient location to party. The hostel is very well geared to the party attitude and atmosphere. If you are not at all interested in partying in Cancun, I don't think this hostel is

The place was under construction when I stayed, so I think the noise etc. affected a few things, but once I got out of the second building (my room had no windows and got stiflingly hot, the shower was weak, and there wasn't a mirror anywhere in the second building) and into the main building, things got WAY better. Lovely hangout area, fun staff, excellent breakfast options, a convenient location...turned out to be a great experience! Thanks, guys :)
