Cannot fault this hostel. Newly built in a Scandinavian type style, very comfortable throughout. Very clean, 2 goodkitchens, great bathrooms, excellent staff, great location. One of the best hostels I've seen.
The hostel was actually overbooked, so we were taken to another one 1-block away. The staff was always helpful and tried to make it up to us. Location is not the best - a bit of a walk till city center. Otherwise, recommend it:)
This a great hostel, very clean, neat, newly renovated and quiet. The owner is very helpful, friendly and speaks good English. His family is very sweet and like to fuss over you at breakfast. The bed is very comfy and the private bathroom very clean. Great location, everything is in walking distance.
Good place, location is not in city center, but 15 minute walk from it. the place is still in renovations but already looks great, especially in the lobi and the breakfast area that look like a ski hut... our initial double room was very small and not heated at all, so it was very cold at night. the beds weren't very clean, but ok. after the first cold night the owner moved us to another room in the back yard which was pretty isolated but heated. so basically the service and atittude are great!
The renovation works are almost finished and we did not have any inconvenience during our stay. The owner did a nice renovation. The common area is big, the kitchen is clean and well-equipped. The breakfast was very nice. The hostel is situated 6 blocks from the city centre, but punta arenas is not that big (10 minutes walk). Would certainly recommend it!
Keoken is a beautiful-looking hostel with a nice wooden living room area in a great location. However: - the twin private rooms upstairs have no heating so prepare for Patagonian temperatures (our water felt like it came from the fridge in the morning) - we found a single bed bug in one of our beds, but sprayed deet everywhere so fortunately didn't get bitten The breakfast included bread, cereal, and yoghurt. The showers had great pressure and had ample hot water. Kitchen upstairs was a bonus.
The double private we stayed in was a good size and in excellent condition. The kitchen/dining area was also fantastic. The owners were very helpful and spoke good English. Very nice breakfast and on the morning when we departed early they put the food out early for us. There appeared to be some renovation work that was still ongoing but this was minimal and we weren't disturbed at all by it. The location was also good, with the main shopping and dining area just a short walk away.
We spent three nights at keoken, and had a pretty comfortable stay. The owners are really nice, our double room was clean as was the bathroom, wifi was good, the kitchen for guests is a bit small (not really a problem just don't stock up on groceries before getting there) Some of the hostel is still under construction, but while we were there it didn't interrupt our stay. I would go back if headed to Punta arenas again.
The hostel is under (re?)construction now, but it already very comfortable. Has a huge kitchen/dinning room and a nice library of guides and ethnography books. Rated security low due to few exits from hostel to construction site which are never locked, think it will be fixed soon!
very cosy and quiet hostel just next to the cemetry. the staff is very friendly and helpful.
loved this hostel, definitely the nicest place i've stayed in during 3 months in SA. wonderful interior design, well-equipped kitchen, no "party hostel" but the perfect place to unwind after intense trekking.
Refurbishing of the hostel was nearly completed when we visited. Place is light, clean and close to the center of Punta Arenas. Staff is friendly and breakfast is decent. Beds are really good, although we booked a double and got two singles.
Newly remodeled so everything was really clean. The general area had giant windows and was beautifully decorated. Great staff.. very friendly and accommodating. Highly recommend!

Nice friendly place. Helpful staff, undergoing a nice renovation which did not detract from visit. Would recommend.
The Hostel was under construction during our stay and it would have been nice to have been informed of this at the time of booking so that we could have made the decision as to whether we would have chosen to stay in a construction zone or not. We would not have chosen to stay had we known. It was not just that the reception and breakfast area were under construction, but the noise of constant hammering and electric saws and sanders that made the stay particularly disturbing, until late.

The building is under construction, which will translate into a much finer facility. In the meantime, the rooms are old and cramped. The bathrooms are tiny and dangerous. I'm sure that they will be renovated along with the expansion.
Hostal Keoken was in renovation during my stay.... For the rest: clean, simple and good hostal. Breakfast could be better.
The hostel is being re-build so we got and extra discount when we arrived. At some point in time it will be the best looking hostel ever! Until that time... its not that great looking. The kitchen is fine, so is the diningroom. There is no nice commonroom to hang out at.
Hostel Keoken was under renovation when we stayed. We had to walk through a construction area to enter. There was also an area covered by tarpaulin and we could hear this flapping oudly in the wind all night long. Other than that, the hostel was ok - room good, bathroom tiny but manageable and clean.
