Nice hostel- had a private room that was small but sufficient. Great location. It was a little loud at night, but we were so tired it didn't keep us from sleep. The shower didn't have much warm water when I tried it out. Overall good experience. Great location to go see Ek Balam and Chichen Itza ruins.

The hostel is run with a lot of thought about the comfort of budget travellers. The location is excellent. A better than average breakfast is included. The garden is wonderful. There were problems with water supply during my visit but this is hardly the fault of the owner who worked like a trojan to correct it. There was a problem with bathroom cleaning but this was rectified immediately when I mentioned it. The couple who run this hostal really aim to do the best possible job.

This place is everything a good hostel should be: friendly, efficient staff, comfortable bunks that don`t wobble and creak and a beautiful garden to relax or socialise in.

Super garden, very friendly staff and a lovely city. Tip: do visit EK Balam, it's a lovely, small site.

A decent hostel in a good area. It wasnt any special but the garden was supercool. We rented bikes from the hostel and took a ride to the cenotes which was cool!

Can't say enough how much I enjoyed La Candelaria. Located in a beautiful square, run by a very friendly staff (thanks Jose!) and providing a nice breakfast, its only drawback is to be near a church where a bell is rang two times starting at 6h30 AM, although not every day...

The best hostel I've ever stayed at. The atmosphere is almost magical, jungle-like and cozy. Staff very friendly and helpful. All facilities work, breakfast was good. Pecas (the cat) and Bob (the dog) are both adorable. When was the time to go we only wanted to stay!! I wish to come back someday!

A gem of a hostel, great location on the square - near the bus station but quiet and peaceful. Staff very friendly and speak good English, lots of info on what to do in the area. Breakfast is good, kitchen facilities are excellent and the garden is spacious and well looked after, beautiful lighting and plenty of seats. Dogs are a bonus!

The dutch dude was awesome, he was so helpful, he gave us a map, places to eat, drink & visit. The hostel is located on a beautiful little town square close to everything. Huge breakfast every morning and the private room was large, clean and comfortable.

It was a really nice, chilled-out hostel with helpful staff and friendly guests. The shower in the dorm could be a bit better but the garden out the back more than makes up for that.

The staff at La Candelaria were incredibly kind and helpful in directing us around town and how to get to various cenotes, Chichen Itza, and our next stop, Tulum. The private room we stayed in was cute and moderately comfortable. The location is perfect - right next to the old church and situated on a quiet, beautiful plaza nearby the market, bus stations, and the town square. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a pretty, clean, and friendly spot in Valladolid.

This hostel is an amazing place, full of character. Loved the garden, the puppies, the breakfast. Best of all, the employees! At arrival they explain all to do in and around Valladolid.

Stunning garden, great cooking facilities and great place to meet people. Right near the bus station and the centre of town. Generally clean, but can be the odd small bug (ant/mosquito/etc.) due to the proximity to the garden. Can be a bit noisy at times (barking dogs/people/etc.), so bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper. Breakfast is nothing special, but it's free, so can't complain!
