The staff are super friendly and they all speak a great level of english so there is no miscommunication. The best part of the hostel is Margarita! The house dog. Shes adorable and so lovely. So if you dont like pets, stay away.

I really enjoyed my stay at hostel Lao, I felt cosy and they were really helpful. I can just recommend it!

I really love hostel Lao. I have stayed there twice now, both times I loved the place! It has a real homey feel without feeling like you are invading the owners personal space. They have a great lounge area which is comfortable and makes meeting people easy. Breakfast is awesome, staff are REALLY friendly and helpful- even to my friend who wasn't staying at the hostel. The only issue is that the toilets are in with the showers so if you wake up busting you have to wait till they are free.

Lockers could be more secure -- some broken locks and latches. Staff is truly fantastic -- especially Francisco and the girl who works, generally, in the mornings.

We LOVED this hostel! It's small and relaxed with lots of communal spaces both indoor and out. It's very clean and the staff make you feel right at home. The 4-dorm is spacious and light, as is the whole hostel. Easily the best hostel we've stayed in (out of about 16 hostels we've stayed in so far).

It's a good hostel to stay at in Mendoza and to meet people if you choose. It's clean, there's a good sized courtyard to chill in, also places to sit and lounge inside, just a few blocks walking distance from the bus station and from where the action is in center.

Home away from home, comfortable hostel, super friendly staff... amazing hostel! Just book it already :)

My first experience of staying in a hostel and was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of the premises and the kindness of the staff. Would highly recommend the establishment.

The staff were wonderfully helpful and accommodating. The inner courtyard is a haven in a busy city. The fact that it's relatively small gives it a hospitable and personal feeling. The best rooms are very good but unfortunately face onto the street - not much can be done about that though the sound-proofing is very effective and if you're used to city noise, perfectly adequate.

Free wine after 8pm from tuesday to saturday, nice breakfast, but wifi doesnt work on private rooms, they are outside the main hall of the hostel.

Helpful staff, though if someone recommends the restaurant Mr Chef, DON'T GO! Much nicer places around for the same price. Wonderful lounge area, and garden, which was lovely for the few days I was there as it was cloudy and rainy the whole time!

I spend 3 nights at this hostel with 2 friends in a dorm for 4 persons. It was a delight to be at this hostel, it is definitely the best hostel I have been in Argentina. The owners, workers and the 2 dogs were so helpful and nice with us. The whole hostel is extremely clean, in particular the bathrooms.The only bad thing I can say is that the dorms have no closet to use with a padlock, at least not a good one. They have also on well working PC with fast internet. The swimming pool is small.

I booked this hostel due to the high number of excellent reviews, and I was not dissapointed! The staff are amazing, and the hostel itself is lovely, spacious, clean, and socialble - without being a party hostel. the activites recommended by the hostel were great - especially the evening horse riding! Only slight issues were no ladders for the bunks, and not enough power sockets in the rooms. This hostel gets booked up, so book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Very chilled hostel with lots of areas to relax - makes it hard to leave! The staff were fantastic at organising tours and will do so on your behalf, they were also great at assisting with directions and telling you where to go. Downside was there is only two bathrooms (each one has a toilet and shower combined) and as it is quite a big hostel they really need to add a few more. Powerpoints in the rooms would be great also. Loved the backyard area with hammocks and small pool.

We loved our stay at Hostel Lao! It can be really vibrant or really chilled out (it's up to you). The owners are so friendly and helpful, they even offer free wine! They have a lovely back yard with hammocks and plenty of chairs and seats to relax and chat to other travellers, plus some lovely pet dogs who are very friendly. The hostel helped us organise some great day trips! We would definitely stay again!
