Really great place. All the staff were really helpful and the hostel has a really relaxed vibe. Big garden outside to chill out in and the rooms are relatively big too. It's only a few blocks from the bus terminal which is handy too. Would stay again.

Probably one of the best hostels we have stayed at so far. Very relaxed and laid back. If you want to chill out for a couple days, do a few winery tours and maybe have a bbq for dinner, Lao is the perfect place for you. If you are looking for a party hostel, you might want to look somewhere else though.

We had a lovely double room, loads of space and great value for money. Hostel is clean and staff are super friendly. Kitchen well-equipped and the BBQ was great fun and tasty. Small 10 min walk to central plaza but not a problem for us. We would recommend Hostel Lao

Myself and my boyfriend had a really great stay here. The hostel is a short walk from the bus station and close to the town centre. The staff, especially Francisco and Maurizio really went out of their way to help us organise wine tours, activities and to make restaurant reservations for us. There was a lovely pizza and beer night which was great fun. Breakfast was decent. Bedroom andbathrooms were lovely and kept clean. Would definitely recommend staying here!

maybe you can improve the kitchen supplies ( pots and pans). Please make sure that the toiletseats are secured to the pot and matrasses are checked every once in a while on their comfort levels for the rest everything was perfect! :-)

Hola! Thanks for the great comments about the hostel. We are happy you enjoyed your stay. We are suprised by your feelings about our location as the hostel is very centrally located. A 10min walk from the bus station, a 10/15 min walk from the main plaza and a 5 min walk from the main commercail street in the city. Safe Travels

The BBQ dinner was amazing! And a really great way for all of us travelers to get to know each other. Pool, hammock, kitchen are wonderful. The breakfast is delicious!! Super helpful staff that gives great suggestions on where to go and how to get places.

Was totally ripped off for Xmas eve dinner. If they offer something for a price be wary about it. 600 paseos for an xmas eve dinner and all u can eat. Only wine that didn't last long not enough food and it was just too exp. I had a new years dinner at another hostel for 300 and it blew this one away. That's the only complaint other than that it was a beautiful place.

Please see our reply to the previous comment for a list of what was included. I think most people would agree, and nearly all of the 24 people who ate the meal did agree, that it was value for money. We are not a cheap and cheerful hostel. Obviously some people prefer to save cash by drinking cheap wine and eating quantity over quality but that's not what was on offer. I think certain guests just wanted to get trashed and not enjoy an excellent abundant meal and high end wine.

Very nice hostel. Definitely recommended. Good atmosphere, nice garden, good breakfast. Only disappointment was the christmas-eve dinner. It was nice but absolutaly not worth the 600ARS we had to pay.

"We are sorry you found 600pesos(about 50 euros) for half a bottle of great torrontes, a bottle and a half of excellent Malbec, 4 home made empanadas, a chorizo and morcilla starter, 400grammes of excellent organic beef ribs, salads, a bottle of high end champagne and pudding nibbles to be too expensive. We made 2euros between us per hour for all our hard work and gave up a large portion of our Christmas Eve. You consumed the rest."

A pretty place in a great location. I was very happy with the breakfast on the first morning which included fruit and great bread, however this diminished in both range and quantity on other mornings. Great atmosphere and met lots of cool people. Unfortunately I agree with others regarding Christmas dinner, it was not good value considering the amazing food and wine offered in Mendoza for half this price.

Very friendly staff and nice hostel. The garden is small but beautiful. You can use the very clean kitchen and living room if you want. The included breakfast offers much more than most hostels. Unfortunately our room was a bit noisy because it was right next to the street. But during the night there were very little cars. We enjoyed our stay very much.

We are really happy you enjoyed your stay. About the room; when you say, "right by the street", I would like to clarify that the room is street facing but 4/5 metres back from the road. Latin American cities are noisey but the room is quadrupled glazed to isolate as much noise as possibe and as you say, "at night there are very little cars" so sleeping should not be an issue. We will continue to work to isolate as much street noise as possible for a "silent" room. Safe Travels

Lovely garden, friendly staff and an adorable dog. Enjoyed cooking on the bbq-just need to buy wood from local shop (15pesos). Double private rm with shared broom definitely 'cosy'. Great overall vibe in the hostel.Breakfast was fine when there was some, unfortunately particularly when Mike (owner) wasn't there had to keep asking for more.Maybe a shorter breakfast service

Thanks for your feedback. We have new morning staff who are struggling a little to make sure everything is exactly as it should be. It will happen but we need to be a little patient for now. Sorry you had to ask for breaky re-fills, but at least there was always plenty to re-fill with! Safe Travels

Really nice and relaxing hostel, near to the busstation and the main streets. Small and clean, with good atmosphere!

The place is a located a small walk from center of the city, and the staff was really nice and helpful. We stayed in a room in a pool in the backyard. I would definately recommend it. Only thing: When we tried to book the room we used Airbnb, but they did not respond to it within 24 hours. Instead we booked though hostelworld. But it worked perfect then.
