Friendly, simple, comfortable, nice homy feel, perfect for short or longer stay. Excellent value for money. The courtyard is spacious, and there are many options to relax or mingle: couches, tables, hammocks. The staff is very friendly and take excellent care of guests. The general atmosphere sits more on the quiet than the party side. It was perfect for me!
We will definitely return soon!
This place has an amazing vibe and the value for the dorms is excellent. The public bathrooms are ok but the private ones (including the one in the dorm suite) are excellent. The private suites are beautiful and are good value if you're traveling with a group. Wifi, fire pit, and beer on hand are great but what really makes this place is the staff. Mariana and Eder, the owners, are a great couple from Tuxtla but Claudia, the other staff woman is really the gem and linchpin of this place.
Nice hostel in a beautiful house with great location., helpful staff. Just two bad things: 1. Private room w/o bathroom are cold and with really thin walls, you could even hear the breathing of people in the next room, so it was not really "private". 2. Tour they offer are more expensive than other agencies in town.
Las Palomas was wonderful. The staff were kind, and the atmosphere was fun. This hostel is on the more quiet side relative to some other hostels that we stayed at in San Cristobal, but you can always find a group of people who are up and interested in exploring. The private suites are very nice (we stayed in them a few nights instead of the villas).

Staff were really friendly and helpful. Beautiful courtyard. Room was fine although my one comment would be that the pillows were very thin so I got a bad neck. I would recommend this place.
Cold at night but blankets on bed were fine for me (don't know where you'd get extra from though). Pancakes for breakfast are nice but get old very quick (what's wrong with toast?!) Quite empty so quiet. One of the three toilets kept breaking and the shower heads weren't amazing but apart from that the bathrooms were adequate. Staff were very nice, friendly and helpful :)
