Hostel Mamallena

At Hostel Mamallena we pride ourselves on great customer service and providing a real backpacker experience.

As a backpacker you choose a hostel to stay in for the atmosphere and the information provided to make to make the most of your trip. We dont consider ourselves the best hostel in all of Colombia, and we dont try to be. But we do provide a solid backpacker experience, where youll have plenty of space to chill and meet others, and just relax in the heat of the day. Our staff can provide all the information you need to know about what to do in cartagena and how to continue your journey.

All our rooms on HW have private bathrooms(including dorms) and most are pretty spacious. We dont consider ourselves a party hostel, but were not boring either. Theres usually something going on in the patio or the bar. We do try to limit the noise but you know, sometimes it can get a bit more than some people would like. Wednesday is party night on Calle Media Luna, right in front of the hostel. Its pone of the best nights out in Cartagena and theres usually plenty of people at the hostel enjoying it before heading out.

We provide a kitchen(maybe a little smaller and warmer than some would like!) for those of you who want to cook your own meals but we also have our own cafe and bar. Theres great homemade hamburgers, veggie burgers and french fries as well as crepes, steaks and salads. All day is happy hour with 2 mojitos for 15 000 pesos, among others.

So, if youre loking for a real hostel, where we encourge people to mingle and make friends, where you can get real information by english speaking staff, where we treat you like adults not kids then make a booking. If youre after a place with AC, if you want peace and quiet 24 hours a day, if you dont know what a real hostel is, if you think we should have rules and regulations, then let us know and we can suggest some hotels in the area.
