Very nice place to stay in the very center of Madrid. + The "do it yourself" breakfast was a nice experience. - I rent a bike there for 3 hours...and had to pay for 6 hours as they just rent for 2 hours(6 euros) or 6 hours(12 euros).

in the reception, there were noone who can speak English, they gave me a wrong room despite i had reservation. there were no hot water at 11 pm., so shower is a problem. the only good thing about this hostel is location, it's really close to city center but except from that, everything need to be improved.
Have more plugs, mattress was a a bit squeaky in room 9.
location was perfect! great view from my bedroom. the floor had a dirty aspect in the all hostel, couldn´t walk without flipflops on my room. wifi only works well on reception. there is no safe place for a large baggage.
The staff were very friendly and helpful! Perfect location as well!
Great location and helpful staff, would definitely recommend the free walking tour and the bar crawl.

No proper kitchen facilities. Only few toilets for the entire hostel.
Would have been nice with a stove in the kitchen. Pens and labels to mark the food in the fridge. Was there on a friday and saturday. It was quite noisy at night as people and staff was getting ready to go out for a party and again when they returned. Also sucks to have to pay extra for linen.
There is nothing special about this hostel--if you need to stay a night or two it's fine, but if you're looking for a good atmosphere to meet people try something else. ALSO MAKE SURE that linens are included with the price. If you rent just a basic room (which doesn't really make it clear if you are) you have to pay 5 euro extra for linens and a towel. I chose the hostel because I needed a cheap place to stay for one night, and ended up paying extra for something I thought was included
Didn't like how you didn't have lockers and the outlets in the rooms were poorly situated. Female staff were great, male not so great. The common room downstairs is dark and creepy and no one hangs out down there so your limited to the lobby if you want to hang out with people. I stayed at Barbieri Sol Hostel the next 2 nights and it was far better. Oh and they charged your something like 6€s for linen which I didn't realise... 6€ seemed like a lot.
It was tuff. only 2 toilets for the entire hostel (hostel capacity 85), no air condition, no hot plate or Owen in the kitchen, zero Heath and safety, reluctant and aggressive receptionist, kitchen closes 10 at night (it's a joke in Spain). Receptionist rip you off with 20€ bike hire a day, whereas you can get one elsewhere for 40€ for a month. Hardly any vibe in the hostel. Good thing is it is next to the palace and internet is good and that is all.
ROACHES,ROACHES,ROACHES, and more ROACHES!!!!! One of the Staff laughed about the roaches and tried convincing me they were butterflies....the weren't i promise!!!!!!!! They were all over the lights and walls and just everywhere! They come out at night!! left in the middle of the night b/c of the roaches.Staff was rude...stood at the receptionist desk for 15 minutes waiting for the guy to acknowledge me! He took his sweet time getting my key, checking the room, and giving me the linens & towel.
Staff was incredibly rude. The two receptionist didn't have patience to explain anything and were very rude to give information about the city. The room has no individual lights ,so every time someone enter the room or want to search something, the light of the whole room is turn on. Also, the sheets and pillows were smelling. We also had trouble to find the hostel because the directions were really inaccurate. The only positive aspect was the location. close to main things in the city.
