We stayed in one of the apartments which are in a different building than the hostel. It was clean and comfortable. couldn't ask for a better place to spend a few days.

auto-light is bad, have time limit. must turn off during the bath, need to jump for turning on, it's easy to fall.

We were in an ensuite room which is in a house across the river. I had thought this wouldn't bother us but it was a bit disappointing not being right int he middle of this amazing town (there were no views either). We had a fantastic time in Cesky Krumlov overall- it was May Day eve and the festival-feel of the place was great. Kitchen facilities to use were handy.

We stayed in the apartment and it was quite nice. You can get wifi in the apartment as well. Loved this place. My only complaint is that we asked about laundry and they told us to come back the next day at 10:30 or 11:00. We came back at 11:00 and was told they were full for the day and they could not tell us where any laundrymats where. We found one across town. After this incident we only pick places that have machines and not just 'laundry service'

The hostel itself is full of character with exposed-beam ceilings, quirky shaped rooms and great views over the river and city. There are kitchens on every floor and so it's never a problem to make food or drinks. The staff were incredibly... Absent. There wasn't always some one around- at check out I couldn't find a soul. The staff never introduced themselves or tried to make conversation. For this reason it didn't feel like a hostel as it's usually the staff who make a hostel great.

It is very noisy at night if your room is next to the road, coz many cars pass by and drunk ppl will yell!

Pension Merlin was really beautiful place to stay. Clean, quiet, conveniently situated couple minutes of walk from the very centre of Český Krumlov. I was little bit upset just from one thing: door which led to the garden was locked :(

Actually, the general performance of the hostel is good. The location is close to the square but a bit difficult to find. The reception is very kind and helpful. High speed wifi is great! One of the shower in the toilet is not strong enough.

The reception staff is nice and friendly. The room cleanliness has met the standard and its price. However, the heater in the apartment room type ( most expensive room type I believe) has not working properly. Only the floor area in front of toilet was warm but the rest of the bedroom was very cold. My friend and I need to wear extra long john and scarf to sleep on that night in order to keep us warm and sleep.

Pros: location (almost in the middle of the town). Good wifi in the rooms Cons: reception staff was mostly unavailable. Tiny room (i had a private double in the attic) with barely enough standing room for 2 people. Flimsy mattress. Dirty sheets.
