We started off by somebody meeting us at the bus station to show us where the hostel was, then got a massive slice of baklava when we arrived. It went from strength to strength from there. One of the nicest hostels i have ever stayed at. Don't hesitate to do Miran's tour - it is the best way to see the area around Mostar and thanks to Miran's great sense of humour and local knowledge is informative and amusing

I cannot say enough to due Miran justice. As many other people have already reviewed, staying here is like staying with family. Not only was the location excellent and the room clean, I learned s much about Mostar and area. The home video Miran shows is a must. We stayed just off the main hostel in a suite above Miran's family, the hospitality and kindness we were shown was incredible. Thank-you again for all the grapes. And a big shout out to Miran's brother Miram for carrying my bag!

The people who run this place are amazing. They are extremely helpful and generous. They surprised us by coming to the bus station to pick us up and bring us to the hostel. Way awesome when compared to other places. They are also in a great location: close to the bus station and the city center.

Made very welcome from first minute, with drinks and homegrown grapes offered. Miran and family were very hospitable and eager to please. He really went out of his way to run a tour for just 2 of us (minimum was 4) after he was let down by others who were supposed to also be on the tour, and essentially drove us around Hercegovina whilst feeling unwell and without making a profit, which is a measure of how good Miran is as a host. Much appeciated and high score is deserved.

Fantastic welcome with a complimentary beer to watch Champions League! The war tour is a must with Miran's brother...this is perfect for a few nights in Mostar - not sure if anyone stays longer?!

A very welcoming family. We arrived on the train nearly 2 hours late but Miran was waiting for us. Ask him about doing the tour of Hercegovina (stunning scenary, swimming in waterfalls and Miran's entertaining banter ). Watched a very moving film about the war in the evening at the hostel. Would definitely stay there again....

This doesn't feel like a hostel, it feels like Miran is welcoming you into his home. Miran, thank you for sharing your stories about Mostar. A truly unique experience. Good luck with the renovations to your hostel, I'll have to come back and see what you have done with the place! Zivjeli!

highly highly recommend staying here. Not only is it great accommodation per the hostelworld assessment criteria. But you will definitely gain something much more by staying here. Miran, his brother and family are very friendly and hospitable. Stay here if you want to really experience Mostar (and bosnia) through the eyes of a local family. Theres much more to Mostar than just the Old Bridge, the stories from this town are important to hear.

Had a great time at this hostel. Went on the war tour with Miran - highly recommend. They also showed us home videos and docos of the war times - very interesting.

Thank you Hostel Miran for giving my friend and I a real cultural experience, something I've never experienced from other hostels. Your story on the war was extremely moving and I feel privileged to have heard it first hand and see how it effected you and your Country. You'd be stupid not to stay at this hostel, and you definitely need more than 1 night. Do the war tour and make sure you ask about a trip to the waterfalls. Lovely family.

Miran is a very kind, welcoming man. We weren't in the main hostel but a room above his grandparents' place, which was a 5-10 minute walk from the other hostel. Although this meant we weren't as near other travellers, we had a huge room, WiFi access and Miran's grandmother was the sweetest - giving us an umbrella to use and feeding us pomegranates. I guess it wasn't a typical hostel stay but probably nicer because of the personal aspect of it - we had Bosnian family hospitality!

It was a great location, very clean and the beds were very comfortable, what made this place stand out was the people. The staff (Miran and family) not only made us coffee and tea in the morning, when arriving in Mostar our bus was delayed until 12:30 (our original arrival time was 10pm) they were still waiting for us at the bus station even though there was no pre-arranged pick-up. Everyone was warm and welcoming despite the late night, we could not recommend this place enough.

I enjoyed my stay at hostel Miran, but was there during the off season so the hostel wasn't that busy. The hostel was under construction, but I recommend staying there.
