Very easy to meet people, fun (but not tacky) bar crawl, laidback vibe. Clean bathrooms, good breakfast.
Such a nice hostel. Don't be put off by the slightly dodgy-looking street view, this place is a haven. Breakfast and dinner are included - maybe the only good veggie meals I had in Eastern Europe - and the staff do your washing for you, which is lovely
The common room is really cool but I wouldn't really recommend the cheapest rooms in the attic, they feel a bit drab - if I'd come again I'd probably pay a bit more for a regular bunk bed. But the kitten in the garden was the best. I'll definitely come back just to say hi to him. If you see him he answers the name Emil Kostadinov.
Great, friendly, helpful staff!

Stayed in the dbl bed private room, which is in an apartment 5mins up the road from the main hostel. Apartment was gorgeous, 2 bathrooms, stocked kitchen etc. Great deal, with all you can eat bfast and dinner included in the price. Staff friendly & knowledgable about the city. Cute cats outside the hostel, and wifi signal strong everywhere. Can't speak to the security in the dorm rooms, but the apartment was well locked up.
Hostel Mostel was one of the best, if the not the best, hostel I've stayed in. The dorm rooms were clean and spacious, the hostel building was beautiful and in such a central location and its common room was comfortable, spacious and welcoming. The staff were excellent and went out of their way to help me. The food was cheap and amazing, with a free beer every night! The pub crawl was so much fun and I met amazing people here! Have already recommended the hostel to all of my friends!
Amazing hostel and atmosphere, easy to meet people and very helpful staff
Great location/price/atmosphere. 2 free meals a day were surprising good too especially continental breakfast. Staff extremely helpful with where to visit in the day and night. Private rooms are round the corner in a separate building but this wasn't an issue as you had the facilities you need there Definitely recommend and a great way to meet fellow travellers!
Awesome hostel, can't recommend enough. Nicest staff ever, and super knowledgeable. Such a good breakfast for only 3€. The 18 bed dorm is great, no problems, except for one night where some drunk idiot didn't stop coughing and kept everyone up.
The location is perfect. Staff is very nice and helpfull. I loved the map of the city I got - much better than the one in tourist information.
Hostel Mostel is brilliant! The breakfast and dinner is a massive plus, and creates a really good atmosphere when everybody gathers to eat. The staff are very friendly and helpful. On a side note - the private rooms are located in another building about 5 mins walk down the road (but you can still use all the facilities in the main building). This wasn't a problem for us - but we felt it should be included in the online info about the hostel.
The staff was extraordinarily helpful and I loved the dinner! great hostel!
I stayed in the 18 bed dorm and had a good night's sleep. The price does not include the free breakfast or dinner. Nice staff and lots of information for your visit to Sofia. Kitchen was not available during evening time as it was used for preparing the free dinner for customers eligible for it. A good fun hostel tailored to the needs of backpackers.
Hostel Mostel was amazing! The staff were friendly and knew everything about the city, rooms were really clean, and the food (breakfast and dinner) were delicious. Thanks for everything you guys
The hostel had an awesome atmosphere and had a lot of great stuff on offer. We particularly loved the tour that was offered out to the Rila Monastery, and the breakfast was a fantastic perk every morning. We thoroughly enjoyed the bar crawl we went on but it would have been good to have a closer final destination or a club to finish the night.
Good hostel. Really big though so you don't quite get the more intimate feel of other hostels. Staff was helpful enough and the location was good. The breakfast (one of the best I've seen for a hostel) is available for an extra few quid and comes free with the more expensive rooms.
If you go for a private room, it will be located about 5min walk from the actual hostel, which doesn't sound like a big deal but it does make a difference as breakfast, computers, staff and overall atmosphere is there, so we actually didn't manage to meet or socialize with anyone
Although this hostel stays very busy, the staff and the facilities are well designed to handle all of the people. Very good location too. Definitely recommended.
Great, friendly hostel 5 minutes walk from the centre of Sofia. Staff were so helpful with everything and the breakfast/dinner combo is outstanding. Stayed two nights and had a great bed the first night but a horrible one the second night. Would still definitely recommend.
Can't fault this hostel - it had atmosphere, helpful and friendly staff, tons of food included in the price, cheap, clean, centrally located. What more could there be? If anything it was much busier than I expected, so if you want a quiet place this may not be best for you. But they have a noise curfew so it wasn't bad at all... Just stay there!
