Amazing! Such fab value for money considering the size of rooms, atmosphere, lobby, staff and free food! Would definitely go back :)
A great hostel with very friendly and helpful staff.
Free dinner and breakfast were nice, and the big lobby/lounge/dining area was great for meeting people. My room was very spacious. Only downside was the lack of toilet in the ensuite bathroom, so you could shower in the room, but had to go outside the room to use the toilet.
The booking manager made a mistake so we had to send another couple to another hostel. I guess this can happen to any hostel/hotel. In the end, after a lot of insisting from our side, the staff found another hostel so that we wouldn't be put in a dorm. The room was somewhere in another building, probably not as loud but not as nice as the main building. Breakfast was great, though! Waffles and a lot of other good food.
One of the best hostel ever! Don't miss the all you can eat breakfast!
it is a great hostel.it has every thing ,just go ahead and book. i want the owner to rename as "heaven hostel" because it has everything in it. i really wonder, is owner making profit or not? since every thing free.they offer dinner with mug of beer free every evening.staff are young and very efficient. good luck regards KUMAR REVIEW by THE GREAT INDIAN TRAVELER (TRAVELED MORE THAN 100 COUNTRIES ) GO TO "YOU TUBE" JUST TYPE "THE GREAT INDIAN TRAVELLER TO SEE LOT OF TRAVEL VIDEOS BY ME"
The hostel itself has an interesting history + building, atmosphere, breakfast and staff is great. Note that you can be moved to a close by building / apartment and the dinner is at specific time + time range.
we had a very good time there; stuff is great; they try to charge you for breakfast/ dinner but you shouldn't pay because it is definetly free
Pretty good hostel in a great location. The staff were really helpful and able to answer questions. The 18 bed dorm is foam mattresses in the attic all together, so be aware before you book that room. It also doesn't come with breakfast or dinner.
Loved this place! The staff was awesome, the location was great... The stay here really made me fall in love with Sofija.
Hostel Mostel is a wonderful and friendly place to stay when being in Sofia. The staff is helpful at all times, they provide excellent suggestions to go for entertainment, food or drinks. The location is great but expect to walk for quite a bit to get there or take the tram when coming from the train station. All rooms and bathrooms are very clean. The only problem seemed to be the only two bathrooms on the first level that produced a queue of people in the morning waiting to get in.
Nice friendly hostel. The staff members were great and really helped me plan a very quick tour of Sofia. The bathrooms could be a bit better stocked with toilet paper :)
It's one of the best hostels I've ever stayed at. The location, atmosphere and staff are simply great. Make sure you don't miss this one!
Amazing time at this hostel! Made so many friends and had an amazing, unforgettable time in Sofia. We stayed in a private room in the apartments, which are 5 mins away on foot. The facilities there were very good-- spring for one if you can! Otherwise, great common space, and awesome free breakfast and dinner-- really made it easy for us to meet people, even though we were staying in a different building. Highly recommend this hostel, at least for those thinking of getting a private room!
I really enjoyed my stay here. Although the communal bathroom was often a bit flooded, everything else was really great. The staff are really kind and helpful and there is a great communal vibe at Hostel Mostel. I returned for another day again when I came back from the black sea to Sofia. If you don't like dirty hostels, I suggest avoiding the big communal dorm in the attic which is hot, dark and unclean. All the other rooms are really fresh and clean though!
Nice big common room at reception, good vibes, friendly happy staff. They cook a pasta dinner every night, a great way to meet the other travelers, but they're using the kitchen from 6:30-8pm to make the pasta so it's unavailable to cook your own dinner (the pasta is free so I guess you don't need to cook anyways!). A mix of younger and older travelers which was nice. They have a special hostel map which points out good bars & restaurants.. overall great hostel, would stay again for sure!
Absolutely wonderful hostel. Beautiful, historic and an exciting place to meet new people. It was the kindest welcome I have ever received, we had a sign welcoming us to the hostel by name, and were given a glass of fresh lemonade on arrival. I would definitely stay here again, and recommend it to anyone I know. Best hostel I have ever stayed in.

Well located, with a really friendly staff. Nothing special to say except that it's one of the best Eastern Europe hostel I've been to. Quick remark if you book a private room: they are located 5mn away from the hostel.
Wondefull stay in a great hostel, thank you again !
