This hostel is amazing. The house is very japanese and unique. The moment I arrived I was welcomed warmly by the staff as being invited into a home. The staff was very helpful and warm. There is a nice living room there where it is really easy to make friends. It is a bit challenging to find and you will need to take a bus to get to most places but this should not stop you from staying here. It ranks as one of my favorite hostels I have stayed in.

Terrific experience. The building was kept very clean. The staff created a very comfortable, familial atmosphere. Hanging out with everyone after a day of sightseeing was a highlight of my trip.

This place is really wonderful. One of the reasons is the building itself - although small in dimensions, it has a lot of charm (let's call it traditional Japanese feeling). But the real gem is the person running the hostel - one of the friendliest managers I've ever met.

It's a really cool old house in Kyoto. If you want to meet some old fashion, come to here. Also staff is a gorgeous girl. She can always chat with you everything.

I loved this hostel. Very clean rooms, great showers, kitchen, common area. Staff were v. friendly and helpful. I used their bike for touring Kyoto. The beds are very private in the dorm room, with lockers. Lovely, cosy atmosphere here. I would definately stay here if I return to Kyoto.

I just traveled the world for 9 months and this was honestly one of my favorite hostels. Yuko at reception was so friendly and fun, the location was good and the overall experience was very positive. I hope to come back someday and will definitely recommend friends to stay there.

One of my best experiences in Japan. The hostel is super small which means three things: kitchen, bathroom, living room and bunk bed are conveniently close, you can't avoid to meet new people (parties they host every now and then help a little to this purpose too) and... you have to what your head! Yeah, doorways tend to be to low, but that's the only nuisance you'll ever meet. There's a nice zen garden on the back. Location is amazing. And staff, oh god, every one was so friendly and helpful.

Stayed here for one week and had such a nice time. The hostel is a traditional Japanese house with a beautiful garden area. The place is clean and has big lockers which is nice. The staff are absolutely lovely. Hopefully you are there when there is a dinner party on! Yuko is an amazing chef! mmmm!

A great hostel with amazing hosts. While they did not have a lot of English they went out of their way to be helpful and make sure everyone was happy. Only 2 showers and 1 toilet but very clean. We met some great people there and would love to go back.

So cozy, so friendly. All of the quests having a big meal together at night, bike rental at low cost and a "we'll fix that, dont worry"-attitude to things that would have cost you extra money at a regular hostel. Though not the best hostel when it comes to the facilities, everything else is all that you could ever ask for. Stayed at 8 hostels when I visited Japan, and this was the best one. A stay here is highly recommended!

I had an amazing stay at Mundo Chiquito for 3 nights! The staff is great, very helpful and friendly and the hostel has a character and great atmosphere. Big plus the cooking abilities of YukO. She is cooking dinner most of the times and you can participate with very few money. Just 5 minutes walk from the nearest bus and very close to the nearby public baths. I would definitely visit that place again!

Nice, small hostel. comfortable and warm with friendly staff. location is quite good, near the castle and not too far to walk into the centre of the town. bunk pods were comfy and had lockers in the pod.

Thank you Yuko, Yuya, Reina and Francisco for making Kyoto an amazing experience and for the evenings of food, beer and sake! This is more than just a hostel, I never wanted to leave.
