Wonderful!! We loved our stay at Hostel Mundo. The staff are so friendly and helpful they know a lot about the area and will help organising things if, like me, your Japanese is not great. The beds are so comfortable and the rooms are beautiful. The atmosphere is welcoming and cosy and with the friendly cuddly dog, Tida, I felt very at home. Stay here and hire the bikes to explore the city and bath houses.

Very homey. The staff speaks of English. It's comfortable and quiet. I miss Tida already! Midori-san was very accommodating and helpful during our stay. Perfect for a traditional Kyoto home experience!

Hostel Mundo is great! Everyone there, including the lovely dog Tida, is nice and friendly. The hostel itself is full of traditional Japanese character, making me love every corner of the building. Sometimes, there is dinner party letting the guest and staff dine and chat together, and it is a very enjoyable moment. Although the hostel is not in a big size, it is comfortable enough for stay (with good facilities, relaxing environment). There is only 1 shower, but I never have to wait long.

Hostel Munro was fantastic. Great staff, very friendly atmosphere and awesome dog (not to mention super cheap). It felt more like a home than a hostel. Would definitely recommend to anybody.

Lovely place to stay. The owner and all other people who look after the hostel were really lovely! It's hard to believe that such a tiny house can accomodate many tourists but it's true :-) Oh...and I really loved the heater inside my room xD

After the first day it already felt like I lived there--everyone would sit in the common room and chat. The atmosphere was really friendly, and the house itself was a really awesome traditional style house. The only problem was that it was a bit far from Kyoto station, but it only took one direct bus to get there (about 20 minutes).
