The manager has the worst attitude of anyone I met in India, was rude to me and I say him being extremely rude, actually mean, to other patrons as well. Way to make us feel welcome! If you have a bad attitude then you should not be working with the public. Also didn't appreciate being lied to about the room that I'd be getting. The place is also extremely hard to find. I would absolutely not recommend staying here.

This hostel appears to be under new managment. It is the same reception as Kuldeep. When I arrived, they for whatever reason could not accomodate me in the New King dorms, so they upgraded me to a much nicer private room in an afilliated hotel at no extra charge. I therefore can't review the hostel, but this show the staff is quite consciencious. It was a bit hard to find. Take the tiny alley across from Hotel Vivek (a well known hotel), walk straight to the end, turn left & walk 5 meters.

The staff and the location were good. Besides that though, there was nothing great about the hostel. The room itself was very basic and not the most clean (though the shower was great). It definitely does not have a hostel feel, much more of a low budget motel. If you are looking for a place with character and trying to meet other travelers, probably not the best choice. If you just need a cheap place to spend the night, it'll do.

Great place to stay on arrival in India. Was presented on welcome the a delicious cup of chai and enjoyed a great chat with hotel staff. location is right in the heart of the bazaar and a 2 min walk to Delhis man train station. The manager has a wicked sense of humour!

I stayed at New King for a few days when I first got to Delhi. The manager was very helpful and allowed me to change rooms as my first room was a bit noisy. The place was a little difficult to find at first and the area can be very lively especially if this is your first stop in India. Overall though definitely one of the better hostels I stayed at while in India, the room was big and clean, the location is central and near to the station, and price was very reasonable.

Very dirty and stinky place. The staff uses too much pesticide, as some rooms are without windows, the customers might inhale too much toxin.

Staffs were nice. They advised me not to go far because the area is not safe at night and showed me the way to the nearest restaurant. I booked a single bed for dorm but I got a private suit. Lucky! I had a hard time to find the location although it is inside Main Bazaar. I asked for help from a furniture shop which is coincidentally related with New King and the staff brought me directly to the hostel. There were horns, load music and parade (playing musical instruments) in the middle of night.

The hostel was fine clean enough and the location was fine. Did not appreciate being passed on to there own travel agency to be sold.super.expensive train tickets and being miss led about the possi bility of buying directly.from the train station. But I suppose that is India and it has to be expected somewhat.

I couldn't recommend this hotel more. The staff was more than accommodating, the room was spotless, I felt very safe, it is in a perfect location (short walk from the train station, close to restaurants and bargain shopping), and it had hot water and Internet. From the horror stories I had been told before coming to Delhi, my experience wasn't characteristic of Delhi so this was a lucky find.

Robin is the manager, and he's really chill. He helped me out, ask him about the prices of various things and you should be able to get it at that price. No problems at the hostel, location was a little sketchy but it was good for the price.

its a good localization if we think that its near new delhi train station, but its in a really small and weird street and in my fisrt 5 minutes there i saw a child sofering a car accident. the staff was really nice and polite with me, then a male friend arrived and he totally changed his behaviour. even told to him that he could not wait for me inside and that he must go home. terrible, terrible. its NO wifi, but in staff computer it was working good. VERY loud place. TERRIBLE

The place is tucked in an alley, so it can be a little uncomfortable walking through there at night or early morning. Very basic room, but no problems there.

Good value for money because its cheap. But if its your first time in India, you might find the area a bit too much. Its not the safest or most comfortable area to be in. Also, when coming to Delhi, already make plans for the rest of your trip. Otherwise, staff will try to send u to a tourist center and theyll overcharge you. The hostel probably makes more money on commissions, than basic income from guests. I was satisfied with the help of my tourist agency, but i paid the price for it..

Nice hotel, and quite cheap. I went for a dorm but the manager advised me that as a female in india I should stay in single rooms so put me into a private double bed with ensuite which was nice. It is confusing to find your first time but once you know where it is then it is fine. Good location in that it's in a great area and near the train station.

Extremely basic, but extremely cheap. One tip: don't stay here in the winter. During my stay in Jan. 2013 the night time temp. dropped to almost freezing, and since there are enormous gaps in the window frames (if the windows close at all) the rooms become freezers at night. I slept in two t-shirts, a shirt, a sweater and a scarf, and I could see my breath in the air. The place seems like it'd be fine when the weather is warmer. Decent wifi is a nice bonus.
